The worst. When I walked into my room 506 this is what I found the bed was not done. The pillows had no pillow covers and the I open the bed side draw and found something that looked like a needle and a rapper. At this time with what is going on in the world you don’t want to walk into a room and find this. Just bloody unbelievable.
I made a last minute booking the day I travelled about 10am and arrived after 4pm. The receptionist hadn’t received my booking so I was sweet enough to upgrade us to the top floor however I booked a room with a bath for my small children so we had to be moved. The new room wasn’t very clean -
Perhaps needing a little paint etc however with an old towel on the back of the door. Otherwise no fault. I booked a room with breakfast included and there was no mention on where it was etc. Signs all over showed a breakfast room in level 1- it wasn’t open. On calling reception/ after hours we were notified there was no breakfast- no apology, no replacement, no refund. Covid 19 caused issues however a self contained apartment like the one I booked could’ve easily had the continental breakfast supplied in the fridge for us to enjoy. Left me disappointed as I then had to think about breakfast with a screaming child. Ended our stay with a bad taste unfortunately.
We booked through expedia a one night stay. Travelled from Noosa that day arriving around 2pm.Plenty of time to prepare our bedsit room .
Room 1015 is accessed up past a pool and foya area and then up a flight of stairs.
All these areas needed a lot of cleaning.
We opened the door to our room to find the TV on the aircon on and the drapes pulled shut.....and a strange smell. We opened the curtains to find and ashtray had't been cleaned and I think it would have taken a cleaner a hour or so just to get the outside deck up to standard.I then noticed a couple of pieces of glass on the tile floor which I picked up...After all this I decided to pull out bedside cabinets and was met with a layer of dust which had been there for a long time.I then decided to pull out bed head and another bigger set of draws and was met with another months worth of dust.We went down to reception where the answer to with problem was to summon the head cleaner and assistant who started cleaning as they did not have a spare room.We decided that there was too much to do to get up to standard and left.
We were unsuccessful in getting a refund through Expedia our booking agent as the owner/manager refused to accept fault because she didn't like our attitude......???
Fabulous lady on reception - Rebecca, who delivered great service. The room we were in was clean - tick for that. Our "outdoor balcony with fresh air and natural light" was a sad, dark little alcove off our room with cement walls on all sides apart from a 10 cm gap at the top of the wall that provided a great view of all the hotel's cleaning fluids. I reckon a prison courtyard would be less depressing! We were in 106, in the main building and it was really noisy. Anyone talking in the hall or going in and out of their rooms, or in the pool, echoes along the tiled wall and floor hallways. Parking was tight, we got the last spot so I pity other guests driving around trying to find on street parking. Overall, clean and nice lady on reception. Good Italian restaurant out front and in the heart of Chermside but the room was gloomy in terms of aspect and extremely noisy.
We booked through a broker and I think this is why we got a crap room. It's called a walkup room, 105 - 112 rooms. You have to drag your luggage up about 20 stairs. No good when we are in our 60's. Got locked out on the balcony when I closed the door and had to wait 20 minutes for my Wife to return to the room. Pool needed cleaning. Breakfast wasn't much, just cereal and toast. Maccas was next door and a great Italian Restaurant downstairs. Parking is hit and miss. Checkin staff were great but I think I would find another place next time or get a better room
