Comfortable, clean, hospitable, generous. A great space, with great dockside action to watch. Liked how there was plenty of room in the shared space, making three bedrooms a comfortable accommodation for a larger group.
We love the convenience of the location, the concierge service - great touch for check-in and the Wi-fi.
We didn’t like the withholding of the fact that we will be in a unit with broken balcony door which can’t be shut. Safety was a concern. Noise was terrible (baby slept through) we didn’t sleep for 4 nights it was bad all night till about 2-4am from Thursday to Sunday. And we were viciously attacked by mosquitoes because well the door was impossible to be shut.
Absolutely disgusted that this was know to management prior to our arrival yet no one has notified us to offer cancellation or compensation.
Mind you we would have canceled as we know the area well and the noise is really bad, our family was able to hear it all the way to back bedroom through door and pass living room and kitchen. So imagine how noisy it was in the room at the waterfront with open large door?!
The apartment needs deep cleaning as all upholstery furniture is not very pleasant- tired to say the least.
Dishwasher wasn’t really cleaning anything. Not sure it was working.
Stayed in ocean view two-bedroom for five nights. Loved the clean unit, which almost made me not want to go out and travel around. The staff were very kind and professional. Washer, dryer, and dishwasher are all very handy.
Lovely waterfront one bedroom apartment with kitchen, bath, laundry, views. We won the lottery finding this place! We came several days in advance of our cruise that departed from Princes Wharf to explore this lovely city. Loved the city, people and this perfect location. Apartment was immaculate, great linens, comfortable bed - but oh, the view was perfect. We did upgrade to the best view available. Many good restaurants and shopping and a wine / liquor store close by. We rolled our bags across the street to our cruise ship at Princes Wharf. So easy. This is across the street from the Hilton Hotel. Be sure to carefully read instructions for getting keys and apartment entry if you come in late like we did. The process worked well for us. We will ONLY stay here when in Auckland now.
This was our first trip to New Zealand and Auckland was the last stop on our 4 week long vacation. My husband and I found AWSA on the internet and we were not disappointed. We took the one bedroom apartment on the first floor for 5 days and I can only say good things about it. Thank you Graeme for personally greeting us even though we arrived at the late hour of around 7pm and showing us up to the Apartment complete with blow by blow instructions! The Apartment came with a full kitchen and I must commend the high quality and complete range of all the utensils and crockery. It was no wonder that my husband and I felt so much at home almost immediately. The overall layout was superb, with the bedroom tucked in one corner and the option of sliding doors for more privacy in case one wants to sleep in late. The view from the balcony (which also had a very nice outdoor seating/dining area) was very refreshing overlooking the harbor and although there were boats and ferries parked alongside the wharf, the noise was minimal. The location of the apartment is also one of its plus points and there are lots of wonderful restaurants and bars located around the property all within just a 5 - 10min walk. A roughly 20min walk will take you right to the city centre. A private covered car park lot is provided although we had to pay NZ$25/day for it but the convenience certainly outweighed the cost. The only setback is that there is currently heavy construction work going on at the front entrance of Princes Wharf and things do look a bit messy, and this will probably carry on until late 2020. All in all I give AWSA a thumbs up and will certainly come back if ever I visit Auckland again.
