This place is amazing!
The rooms is big, clean, quiet & comfortable beds.
The owners (I think they’re the owners, working at the counter), is 100% the most kind and supportive people I’ve ever met at a motel/hotel/hostel.
Only the fact that they’re so nice makes it worth staying here, but the room is awesome, the yard outside with alpacas, playground and everything is very nice and the location is perfect!!

Thanks a lot for the awesome experience staying at your place!! Definitely staying here whenever I’m coming back to Rotorua.

my wife and i have stayed at this lodge 3 times in the past two years and love the place. It is always nice to see Irene and Heng always smiling and friendly and room NO, 3 is always nice and clean and tidy. Heat pumps have been installed in all the units this will be nice in winter, as Rotorua can get cold our dog loves it here to as there is plenty of room to run around in the paddock. We will be back here again soon to stay.

Stay here for 2 nights during our stay in Rotorua.

Staffs are friendly & helpful!
The lodge feature 2 bedrooms
1 large double bed -> bed heater during 5deg outside is such a heaven
another is 2 single beds without bed heater but they provide room heater
1 spacious bathroom,
full kitchenete (stove, kettle, toaster, microwave, refrigerator)
barbecue space.
Spacious living room.
Location around 7-10 minutes from centre, but as we drive our car, it’s not a big deal, just bear in mind location is on highway so you might missed this place, but they put green signage that really help.

Family with kids will love this place, they got their safe playground and little farms with animals.
Cleaner clean up our lodge next morning, changing the towel & clean up the rubbish in the bin, made our bed. Dishes and such is our job for sure.

The location, setting and physical infrastructure are pluses. The lodge features 2 bedrooms, a full-sized kitchen and individual BBQ. However, it lets itself down by below average maintenance and understanding of visitors’ needs and doesn’t quite live up to its potential.
1. The power on one side of the bed was via a cable run from a powerboard on the other side of the bed. It didn’t work, so there was no electricity for the bedside lamp or to charge the mobile.
2. The BBQ “worked” in so far as it came on. However, it was so-ooo slow to heat up and, when it did, was warm at best.
3. There was hair left stuck on the tiles in the shower.
4. The laundry is only to be used between 9am and 6pm ... so when do visitors do their laundry if they want to experience the unique things for which Rotorua is famous?

Thank you for your review, we appreciate that not all reviews are positive, and this allows us to hear the not so great aspects of a stay and allows us to make improvements. We do feel it would have been great to hear this feedback at the time of your stay, we would have been more than happy to accommodate you and remedy a number of issues you raised to keep your stay comfortable. We believe you were staying in the unit that has its own BBQ on offer, we would have been more than happy to come check out the BBQ, and see why it was not working as it should. We also believe your power board had tripped out and switched off as each board has a safety trip on them to ensure guest safety, our cleaner found part of the power would not work, it was found the fuse box needed a reset and was working as usual after this was fixed. We are aware power boards are not the most ideal set up to be found in a motel room, as we took over the ownership of the motel, we have carried out a series of upgrades in each room to bring them up to a comfort expected by today's travelers, we are pleased to say this work of upgrades is ongoing, including brand new units and other aspects of the motel such as an upgraded laundry and reception area and improving the current units, unfortunately this does take planning, and awaiting on contracts with people specialized to carry out the work correctly and to standard of regulation, we assure you it is in the pipe work's and a lot of work will be carried out over the winter months to minimize guest disruption. The laundry is closed to ensure it does not disrupt the guests staying near the laundry, we are more than happy to accommodate outside these hours if the rooms effected are not occupied or are the occupiers of affected rooms wishing to use it. In regards to room cleanliness, we do encourage guest to come and speak to us at the time of any concern with their room, we will remedy this immediately we do expect our cleaners to perform to an excellent standard, and if found to be below this, will be corrected to ensure it is maintained to a high standard.

Great location in Rotorua for family fun. Family of 6 stayed in a lovely 2 bedroom apartment size accommodations with kitchen, dining room, full bathroom and nice balcony. Located on farm like setting with chickens, sheep, alpacas. My boys loved feeding the alpacas. Very quiet location, near multiple outdoor activities and a few km near good restaurants. The lady at the check in desk was so kind and sweet. Warm hospitality at its best. It was a great stay, reasonably priced and so comfortable. Highly recommend this for those wanting something home style. Great job Hideaway. We also had free WiFi! Nice
