We recently spent three nights there and were treated very well by staff and management. From picking us up, carrying our luggage, allowing us to choose our room once there...even a courtesy late checkout on the day we left. They made every effort to ensure we had a good stay. Unfortunately a large group of Chinese tourists arrived on our last day and were incredibly noisy and disrespectful such as to spoil the other guests’ holidays....not the fault of the hotel but I wish they had said something to the group. Regardless, a great budget option in Maafushi with a good central location. I would stay there again for sure...
Narnia is a pleasant budget hotel.
Our room and bathroom were large compared to many budget hotels.
The communal reception/breakfast area is nicely decorated in local style and there was always a staff member on hand to provide any assistance we needed.
Breakfast changed from day to day but was generally unexciting.
There have been some modifications since some of the photos - all downstairs rooms now have a small high walled outdoor area in front of the sliding glass door entries. This makes them more private but there is little natural light to these rooms.
The two upstairs rooms are much brighter.
The location is very convenient to the ferry, However, with hindsight I wish I'd chosen a hotel closer to the bikini beach for swimming and more restaurants. Walking wasn't far but seemed further in the hot humid weather.
There are no real budget options in Maafushi but this is in the cheaper end of the scale. Our room was pretty big and very clean and it had everything we needed, even a kettle, a fridge and a little space outdoors to dry our beach wear. Wi-fi worked pretty well. However, as some have mentioned, the breakfast was quite repetitive and you need to go pretty early if you want to get everything (first morning we went a bit after 9 and got only leftovers).
And be aware that at least at the time of our booking, the location was incorrect; they have two locations and our booking was showing the hotel to be near the bikini beach but we were actually staying closer to the other end of the island in the further hotel. It's not a big place so you walk to the beach in like 8 minutes but for those who really value the vicinity of the beach this might be an issue.
We stayed in Narnia 4nights. They have really nice and clean rooms with patio outside. Outside area is beautiful also and staff was nice too. Only problem for me was that they didnt have regular blankets only thin sheets and bed was too hard for me. I know some people like it but not me. And also breakfast was every day the same. For vegetarian not that tasty.
Narnia beach is a quiet and nice place to stay few days. Room is spacious but it would be better if there was a balcony. There is a smoking space before entring in the room but it is so hot and to breath is difficult. Price was cheap for a.nice hotel like Narnia.
