The family are the nicest people and they always make the best effort to give their visitors the best stay.
Great food, clean room and nice and helpful people.
Mr Osmel speaks German, Spanish and a little English.
The casa la espinela is Very Nice, recente renovated and it appear as a Three stars hotel with only two room.
The owners are extremely Kind and helpfil
Surely my Best House in Cuba.
They provide us a bici taxi Very early in the morning. Breakfasts were Nice generous and satisfying
Friendly owners that will cook awesome breakfasts and dinners for you upon request. Room was decent, with air-con and good shower water pressure.
Need to understand that the owners don't speak much English, but I managed to get by with my half-baked Spanish. Also may not have the best travel options (including English speaking guides for local tours)
We spent 3 nights in this beautiful Casa during our time in Trinidad in January. The rooms are nice and big, with private bath and exceptionally clean!! Probably the nicest room we had during our stay in Cuba!
Breakfast is delicious and prepared by the host himself, Osmel. We also had the pleasure of having dinner one night at the Casa which was delicious! Very generous serving sizes as with all Casa meals in Cuba. Osmel speaks fluent German which wasn't much help for us, but he is learning more and more english as the days go on!
Make sure you get up to the rooftop for a sunset drink. The views are amazing! The Casa is located in a quite part of town just a short walk from the old town. Overall a wonderful place to stay and would definitely recommend it to others!
Osmel and Lissy are great hosts, welcomed us with mojitos, Osmel sang to us, and even invited us to see him sing at Ruinas del Segarte, which ended up being our favorite place to see live music in Trinidad (free, outdoors, and one of the few places tourists and locals mix). Didn't like the restaurant he sent us to the first night, La Escherra (touristy and overpriced). Go to La Botija or have Osmel cook all your meals instead. There are two rooms (ours, the front one, had a full size bed and a twin bed) and a shared living room/kitchen. Extremely clean, nice rooftop with sea and mountain view. Delicious breakfast ($5) and dinners ($10-12) with meat/fish and lots of veggies and very filling. Some issues with hot water, just tell him when you want to shower and he'll make sure the water is hot (good water pressure). Good AC too. Location is near the train station, only 10 min walk into Plaza Major which is nice because you can see a bit more of a real town and daily life near the casa, and along the walk, since the town center is quite touristy! Osmel was so wonderful, friendly, and helpful, but you should come with an idea of what you want to do in the area, as he isn't a travel agent!
