We stayed one night at Le Pavillon de l’Emyrne and it was excellent. The room was huge and very nice. The director and staff are incredibly friendly. They offer free massages. The breakfast was excellent. Highly recommended
We stayed here two nights, one at the beginning of our trip and one at the end.
Both times we had room 15 which was clean, beautiful and spacious. We had a private balcony which was beautifully decorated with a spacious seating area and dinning area. Unfortunately due to the timing of our visits we didn't get to make the most of this. Our room had a.c which was a treat during our stay and the hotel has excellent wifi throughout. The breakfast selection was good with fresh fruit, fruit juices, cereals and also the option of something hot being made fresh (eggs, pancakes). Staff were extremely polite, friendly and attentive. We also ate in the hotel restaurant one evening, they appeared to serve french cuisine which we really enjoyed. The hotel is surrounded by beautiful gardens and is a haven of peace from the city streets and just what we needed after a busy couple of days of touring.
An old colonial house with large rooms. Friendly service and OK food. A good massage was included in the room rate. Not a bad place to stay for a night. The shower was weak but the water was hot enough.
The hotel is approximately 30-40 minutes from Tana Airport and is located on the hill overlooking the Lac Anosy. We stayed in both a standard and deluxe room for one night each, we made a mistake on the dates of our trip and had to book an extra night last minute and they only had a standard room available. The standard room (#4) was small with a queen size bed and small bathroom with a shower. It was adequate for one night but lack of space and the comfort of the bed would have made a longer stay more challenging. The second night we stayed in a deluxe room in the annexe to the main building, the room was a spacious suite with a large balcony / terrace and king sized bed, the room was a bit gloomy and tired and could have benefited from a spruce up, again even from the balcony the outlook was limited by the surrounding housing. The communal areas in the hotel are more interesting, as they are filled with antiques, old photos and knick knacks. WIFI was a bit patchy and slow. The breakfast area is light and airy, the breakfast was good with a reasonable selection of fresh fruits, pastries, etc. Reception staff were friendly and helpful. Rather uniquely, the hotel offers free massage, which after a long flight was most welcome.
The location of the hotel is only 5 minute walk from Restaurant Citizen which we have also reviewed and is worth a visit. In summary, the hotel is OK for a short stay and good value for money in one of the larger rooms but if looking to spend more, the Lokanga would be our preference.
We stayed one night at this lovely hotel, our room is on the top floor - the # 7, very spacious. We had two twin beds and the bed was a bit of soft for my aging back. Nevertheless, I had a sound sleep after 2.5 days traveling.
Bathroom is large, but there was no shampoo and conditioner, only shower soap. There was no hairdryer, which I found out late it's quite common in Madagascar hotels.
However, you can find teakettle and mosquito spray in room, these two items were also not very often seen in Madagascar hotels.
In room, there is a little fridge and safe and two heaters, but we didn't need to use it. By the way, blankets were stored in the closet.
For breakfast you can find: coffee, tea and milk, bread, pastries, cereals, fruits, juices, yogurt and cheese.
We also had dinner at hotel restaurant, which opened at 6:30pm. I only had a pea soup, it's a bit of too salty for me and costed 8500 ariary.
Staffs were very friendly.
1. If you have problem for climbing stairs, ask room on the low level. However, bear in mind this hotel is built on the hill, you have to climb up to the reception (separate building), and then to the hotel building.
2. Better use porter for luggages
3. WiFi signal was good in room
4. There is complimentary welcome massage (15 minutes), but you should leave some tips.
