I stayed at Hotel California for 3 nights.
The room and the bath room was bit dirty and quite worn down.
The sheets had holes and were not really clean.
TV did not work at all. Fridge was not plugged in, which I realized just at the second day, because my beverages were warm.
WiFi was good.
It's located at a side road of suhkumvit and the BTS station is only 5 min walk away. On the way to the station are a few cheap and good thai restaurants.
Room price for the area is decent, but you can find way better places for the same price.
This is just a budget 'Hotel', don't expect a lot.
I will not come back.

... but it would be far better never not to check in to begin with!

Call me picky, but these are what put me off while "renting a room at the Hotel California"

- hairs on the bed
- a toilet that would not flush
- disgustingly dirty floors
- no satellite tv reception
- a probable scam (in my opinion) whereby the 600 baht rooms are sold out when it suits the management, forcing you to splash out on the 800 baht room
- no soap or shampoo
- a strong curry smell enveloped the entire lobby

I'm scraping the bottom of the barrel to find pluses. They are

+ walking distance to the BTS subway station
+ nothing was stolen from the room

The worst value hotel I've stayed at in Thailand in 6 years. To be avoided. I wish it was technically possible to give it zero out of five stars.

Nothing, but only quiet surrounding. Location is far from anywhere, only 2 food vendors on the street, need to walk 15 mins to Soi 26 to find local restaurants. My room was flooded with water from the air con, is dangerous cos the television n sockets were just below the air con, the worker cant do anything and only know how to pass me used towels only. Cant even mop, I did all by myself n I clear the blocked air con pipe and there the water stop dripping. No appreciation shown and no a word of thank you from the owner. A owner that is always listening on music with the ear pieces n laying on the sofa. The bed shieet is not clean and stained plus the old towels.....Please go some where else, with the money u get a better place to be in even just for one night. Kind of eerie this hotel. TRUST ME! the website pictures is not like wat i have seen.

The staff was very nice and helpfull. It is also in a good location.

The room was quite dirty- it seemed like a very surface clean, but after 5 minutes in the room you could see dirt on the floor, in the drawers and on the white seat under the desk.

Nothing was plugged in as in the refridgerator and television. After we set the tv up it would not work. We stayed two nights and the stafv offered us a new room, which was very nice. Even though it was odd with damaged walls and black paint stains on our pillows.

... and it's quite cheap for the area. My room was OK, the bed was very nice. But the walls were not so clean, and the window didn't close - which I don't like, staying at the 1st floor. The view out of the window was not nice, facing a wall and looking at lots of dirt on the floor.

The bathroom was very small, about 3 x 1 sqm, but the good thing was that I could wash my hands from outside, without getting my feet wet.

The WiFi was very good. The room has a nice little fridge. I could not deal with the TV. The air-con stopped in the middle of the night.

The staff was very friendly and helpful.
