Visited with hubby for a one day getaway on 1stJune. loved the friendly staff who were all ready to assist so we could have a hustle free stay. Received by very helpful girl,Hellen i think, day two was also an ever smiling girl at the reception(i forget her name),Milly at the rooms was so helpful and i thought to myself we must have bothered her so much coz we kept calling her but what a lovely girl she was all out to help with her quiet smile. It Was a very quiet time as it was during corona but they kept a very professional look. the rooms and the lovely private pool area need a face lift when time and budget allows(otherwise already doing a great job with the outdoors -the heated pool, the gym, animal park, the floating restaurant)I loved and acknowledged the fact that they have a bible in the rooms, great touch. We had an amazing time and would love to visit again
We went to see this place as my brother had visited sometime back. It was interesting to see the different types of birds and animals and reptiles. However, the bird cages were quite dirty. We got to learn about the animals, where they came from, and their nature. We then got to pet a female cheetah, saw 2 lions and a lioness, monkeys, llamas, ostriches, waterbucks, corocodiles and peacocks. The entrance fees are quite reasonable, and we got a guide, Gilbert, who told us how the cheetahs were tamed, and the lions were orphans from the Tsavo. He told us alot about the park, which is huge. They have a water park, a floating restaurant, a heated pool, gardens and shops. Worth a visit.
Stedmak Gardens & Hotels is perfect for children. There are lots of things for them to do - fairground-type rides, indoor heated swimming pools, animal and reptile park, and lots of spaces to explore.
There are several locations for eating and our favorite was one of the floating restaurants. The food was good and with very generous servings, but the choice was limited (many of the items on the menu were not available). Cooked breakfast was included with the room and could be taken either in a small eating area in the accommodation block or in the room.
The tented room was spacious but fairly basic. Each room was located in its own "compound" with an outside seating area. The first room we were allocated had broken zips on the outer door flap and the inner mosquito flap. We were eventually moved to another room which was much better.
The bed was very large and easily held two adults and two small children. The bathroom was clean but the water pressure was low so it was difficult to have a full hot shower.
The price is quite high for the type of accommodation - but this is no doubt a function of it being priced for Nairobi. That said, we were given free access to the swimming pool and the animal park, so that made the price more affordable.
The children had a fabulous time there! They enjoyed seeing the animals especially the birds, lions, cheetahs & llama! The walk was short but lovely, with the exit leading to the amusement rides!
Looking forward to taking the children back next weekend for a swim in the heated pool there as well!
Visited the place for the heated pool and invited a large group of kids to join in the fun. It would be great to have the pool actually heated as it was cold, not what we expected. The seating around the pool is good and safe if you have small kids coz they have a barrier
