Staff (in the hostel down the street) were kind and helpful, hostel (located in an apartment) is small, basic but functional. Two bathrooms, one with a squat toilet. Small common room (with not much more than a table and a couch) located in the small kitchen area. Guests weren't friendly to others when I was there. A number of people appeared to be living in the hostel and took up valuable closet space and shelving. Refrigerator in each room was a nice touch. Spacious enclosed porch off at least both 6-bedded as well as the 3-bedded room, and maybe others as well.
WIFI worked well. Not all beds had an electrical socket nearby for charging.
If the hostel was full (which it wasn't when I was there) having only two bathrooms could be a serious issue.
Don't forget, check in (and out) is down the street at Petrani Central Hostel.
A five-minute walk to the main train station is a definite bonus when staying at this accommodation.
I give it 3 stars because of its cheap price (290 UAH per night) and a nice personnel, but the quality itself is more for 2 stars. It is a large flat in an old house, where several access codes have to be used to enter. There is a common kitchen, larger bathroom with toilet and another toilet with a sink. 4 bedrooms are located in each corner of the central kitchen. My room was a twin room, very small, but OK. There is an air-conditioning and a free wi-fi, but the window leads only to a small covered balcony, so when my neighbors smoked there, I couldnt leave my window open. The worst part are the toilets - they are Turkish style !!! In a modern flat in 2016, I could not believe it !!! I used it once and only because I had to, but it also stank unpleasantly. My neighbors were very noisy and you can hear everything from the adjacent room or from the kitchen, so privacy is not a big advantage here. There is no reception directly in the flat, you have to pick up and return your keys in their Petrani Central Hostel, which is located 5 minutes by foot in a nice house with garden, which looks much better, but is also more expensive. The flat itself is a 10-minute walk from Pivdenny Railway Station and from bus 322 from Boryspil airport, metro Vokzalna is 15 minutes walking. Many buses and trolleybuses run near the house. All in all, for such a cheap price, it is acceptable.
This is place if luxurious! 5 minutes walk from the main train station. Heated floor, super clean. Amazing location. The stuff was friendly, and although didn't know English very well was happy to help. The wifi worked perfectly, the design of the room is super stylish, the best "hostel" I ve ever stayed to. 10/10
It's even harder to find the hostel as there is no administration there. This is my second stay but this time I was disappointed. The hostel is a normal flat in a building. So the rooms are a bit noisy. The problem this time was that the room was dirty and the floor sticky. The Italian toilet stank as there is no tomorrow, there was no toilet paper and no hot water. The batteries in the remote were empty and the WiFi only worked partially.
At least after my intervention the staff cleaned the room and the toilet. Nevertheless I had to clean the toilet and the walls three more times until it was breathable in there.
The staff is concentrating on their new hostel: Petrani Central only about 200 away. If you have some money left you'd better stay there.
I'd given only 2 star this time if there hadn't been a nice girl from the staff who looked after me the third day, replaced the sheets and cleaned the room and the kitchen. She even gave me a little souvenir as sorry. Would I recommend it? Yes, but lower your expectations.
+ location, staff, rooms, facilities, price, clean
- no wifi yet
strongly recommended for a short or long stay. we had a room with balcony to the inner yard and it was very beautiful.
artem was very helpful and meet us near the supermarket. plenty of cafe and restaurants around.
