After sharing room with others for a long time it was bliss turning up at this hostel and have your own room here.
Staff was really friendly, cleaning was impeccable, bed was comfy.
Room tended to get a bit warm and the AC made some noise, and for a larger build person the bathroom can be quite small. But I would definitely stay here again if I return.

I booked online for 2 nights and was quoted as price of $64 for a double room. However when I checked in, I was told that was wrong and the price was actually $99. As I wasn't prepared to pay that I was put in, what can only be described as a box room with a single bed plus ensuite. There was barely enough room for me and my backpack.
The much quoted breakfast consisted of tinned fruit salad, instant coffee and a dry cheese roll.
Not sure how this place does so well on reviews, obviously they had an experience I missed. While the hostal is spotlessly clean, it was one of the most disappointing places out of all the Chilean accommodation that I have booked.

We had a double room with ensuite. Very compact is the best description, although it had everything you needed. Good wifi, TV, fan. very clean and well kept hostal. Breakfast included was ok. Use of kitchen and fridges which is helpful. Nice helpful managers.

We had a terrible car accident in North Chile and where taking to the hospital of Arica. While we had two friends hospitalised for a week and the rest of us were stressful and confused, all the people working at this hostel helped us with sorting out so we could stay in the same room all the time (even though it was booked, but we did not have energy to move our stuff) and also though we only knew on the day if we were staying one more night, they helped us contact flight companies to cancel flights and rebook, called the police for further instructions, help us with informations about busses and so on - things you hope that a good hostel will provide - but they did SO much more! They helped us recover and gave us a place were we good feel like home in all the chaos! They all made sure to know who we were which made it very personal, and they asked to us and our friends in the hospital all the time. They gave us extra pillows, so we could sit up and sleep (because of our injuries), extra towels so we did not have to use the bloody ones from the first night, they let us come and go as we were needed in the hospital, and they made sure that there were silence in front of our room all the time, because we slept many hours during the day. This stay was not a normal touristed experienced for us, but it was the best stay we have had on our 11 month trip though, because they knew exactly what we needed.
That being said, for more normal visits - the wifi is strong (we used it mostly in the lounge-area or dining-area), the price is really good and the breakfast is a good value for the money!

More expensive than a basic hostel because it's a private room with ensuite. It was superbly clean and they make an effort to keep it quiet (no noise after 11pm). The staff were absolutely amazing - helping me book taxis with their gorgeous taxi driving friend and checking I was up in time for my tour. (they even put aside a cuppa and bread cause I would miss brickie). Most staff didn't speak much English (some did though) but they were extraordinarily patient with my almost non existent Spanish. They would even look up the English words for things just so they could tell me more about Arica. Very lovely hosts!
