I stayed here for 3 nights while touring Cartagena. Everything about this hotel was fabulous! We originally picked this hotel due to its great reviews and slightly lower price point than other hotels considered, and were not disappointed!

The hotel was very well located, in the heart of everything but still slightly away from the noise and the crowds. The hotel was very clean and comfortable, and our room was decently sized and contemporary. The staff were so helpful, helping us book Rosario island day trip and restaurant reservations. The breakfast is decent with a few different options (including a healthy breakfast option with fruits and eggwhites, to help you feel less guilty about the arepa you will eat later). We bought a local sapote fruit in town and the staff helped turn it into a smoothie for us which was delicious (I highly recommend you do this as well!!)

The only "downside" to the hotel (and I air quote this as I didn't even use the pool) is that the pool is tiny and is directly next to someone's hotel room, so it is a little awkward. There is another dipping pool on the roof, though!

Dear Julia, Thank you for your review. We appreciate the time you took to write it. It’s definitely satisfying to know that we fulfilled your expectations. You are right, our location is excellent! Indeed, it is privileged to be located in one of the most picturesque and colorful areas of the historic center but still slightly away from the noise. We are grateful for your positive words. The Casa La Cartujita team is happy to know that we were useful and able to give advice; we enjoyed helping you and appreciated your stay with us. We regret that our pool was not to your liking. We wish the pool could be a little more comfortable and private, but unfortunately our infrastructure does not allow for it. That’s why we have a jacuzzi which is a great option for our guests. Customers are our biggest motivation, that's why we appreciate your feedback. We are looking forward to have you on another occasion. All the best, Nathaly Gonzalez M.

We stayed at Casa La Cartujita for 3 nights. It is a small, nice hotel near the busy part of the historic old town.

The rooms were very comfortable and clean. We requested rooms facing the street and it was loud when enjoying the balcony. However, we did not hear anything at night. The soundproofing of the windows was great and we really appreciate it.

The staff was very nice and made us feel at home at all times. The hotel offered three great and delicious options for breakfast (amazing, fresh fruit every morning).

The only downside was that after those hot days of walking outside, my daughters did not feel like enjoying the pool on the first floor. It seems too close to another room and they did not want to make our neighbor guests uncomfortable. The Jacuzzi and tables on the rooftop were nice, but that part of the hotel seemed a bit disconnected from the rest.

Overall, our experience was very good. Thank you!

Fabulous and charming boutique hotel in the heart of the historic old town in Cartagena. It is a small intimate hotel situated in a old colonial building that has been beautifully refurbished in a modern contemporary design. The rooms are well appointed and comfortable with all the modern amenities needed for an enjoyable stay, such as king size bed, soft comfortable linens and pillows, TV, A/C, wifi and marble tiled throughout. The hotel has a small intimate breakfast room where they offer a nice selection of breakfast options which are included in the nightly rate. There is a small pool on the ground and lounge areas around the hotel, which also has a roof deck with a jacuzzi with seating/lounging area.

The staff were all very helpful and attentive and on our return to the hotel on afternoons would bring a light snack to your room which was a nice touch. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would happy stay again should we return to Cartagena. We would highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Cartagena and wanting to stay in the historic old town in a beautiful intimate hotel.

Loved staying at Casa La Cartujita. The service was tremendous & would absolutely come back & stay here. We had ZERO problems and great recommendations. Loved the staff, really felt at home.

They surprised us with snacks, drinks and much more. The jacuzzi on the rooftop is relaxing and the pool on the first floor was great to hang out in. My room with the balcony was spacious and nice and cold. Beds were comfortable and I asked for an iron for the room if needed. Their washing services were also great and good way to travel back with clean clothes in your luggage.

If you have any questions about the place the staff is extremely helpful and treat you like family not a guest. Hope this was helpful if you need to decide between places in Cartegena but the decision is definitely easy.

Mike,
