What an extraordinary place to spend relaxing days at Ubud. This lovely very private hotel with 5 double rooms is located at a hillside of a jungle valley with and unparalleled view, heading west to enjoy the most beautiful sundowners we ever experienced. Located between the Four-Seasons and the Ritz-Carlton you have basically the same jungle experience, but for much less money.

Waking up in the morning with the jungle sound and getting your breakfast (which ist lovely prepared by the staff) on the terrace is amazing. Trying to identify the thousand different colours of green in the jungle takes a long time. You can then get a refreshing swim in the infinity pool of the hotel. If you fancy, book a massage here, which is unbelievably intense. What an experience.

From the Green Spirit Villa you can easily reach the center of Ubud by taxi within 5min or explore the whole island. We will come back.

So news flash, the hotel is smack bang in the middle of the jungle, you can absolutely guarantee the odd gecko in your room making noise, probably the odd ant or twelve and the odd mosquito in your room. However, with the aircon system (we thought it worked alright in the blue "lizard" room just down from the main terrace), your own plug in mozzie repellent (recommend jungle formula max x 2 - worked a treat in main room and bathroom) and the mosquito net down all day - you should have reduced fears of bites. Also those complaining about WiFi/paying in cash and thus reducing their scores are completely wrong to do so.

Now a bigger news flash - this place is absolutely spectacular inside and out. The views from the terrace and pool are to die for. The staff were lovely and carried our heavy cases up and down the steep stairs for us. The food ordered in for lunch and tea was great. Breakfast served was good too. The room was comfortable enough (yes it has a thin sheet on the bed mostly because you'd fry in the summer otherwise). Shower was okay. Cleanliness was good (towels and bedding changed daily).

For those looking for a one night comfort 5 star, this isn't for you - try the Four Seasons down the road. For those looking for a slice of peace, quiet, tranquility and as close to Paradise in the jungle (and taking the other things that come with it) then this is definitely the place for you.

I was upgraded to the perfect room facing the pool & closest to the dining area.
The cute bathroom with gorgeous big stone bath did not need proper windows as there was no way anyone could look in & had lovely views. The bedroom needed the curtains as this was the main thoroughfare for other guests.
I was able to get out of bed & jump straight into the pool.
Breakfast was fresh fruit, I chose a delicious omelette & tea. Followed by banana pancake.
They arranged transportation with Ketut - who was a very patient and remarkably good driver with pretty good English. The lady cook was also the best massage therapist and the outside massage table screened off had the ultimate view. So awesome.
My only ‘complaint’ was a very noisy & frog who’s ‘bark’ was worse than a dog & went on all night outside the window. The joys of nature!!!

This was a peaceful place to stay with the gorgeous view of Valley. The Nicest room to stay the one that facing swimming pool. Testy breakfast not a big choice, but good enough. it is next door to Sayan house with the best sunset dinners and cocktails. There is a very good chocolate shop at the entrance with home made chocolate, mast try.

We spent a 7 nights at Green Spirit villa, in the torquise room right at the botom, facing a breath taking tropical jungle. When we arrived at Green Spirit villa, we were guided to the reception. The view of the tropical jungle, pool & hotel blew us away. Check in was smooth, and the staff transferred our heavy luggage to our rooms. They are strong as an ox. We had a nice torquise standard room downstairs. This was our favourite room of them all after viewing them all (just down to personal choice). We were shown our room, and felt nature breathing inside the room, with a spectacular view of the tropical jungle. Now warning! I love nature and am use to living with nature. If you are afraid of frogs, lizards, massive beatles, 1000's of ants, mosquitos, scorpions and the loud ambient sounds of nature, this is not for you. The Green Spirit villa is a special healing place in Ubud we loved it. This place ill heal your soul. They have access to good spiritual healers. This is Pure heaven. As we inspected our room we could see thousands of ants crawling up the wall behind our bed, on the wardrobe posts and windows etc. On the floor couch as I sat down, I pulled one of the cushions up to check what's underneath and a baby scorpion was inches from my bottom. Some people like to complain about this, what do they expect? This is a living nature environment. We carried with us anti bug, ants, mosquito spray and sprayed the areas that we saw the bugs and we were ok. Outside the room and inside the room, nature will frequently take a visit in the way of frogs and lizards. They are harmless. Our room was clean. There was not one bug in our bed behind our mosquito net. The bathroom windows could do with a little maintenance and room front door. Apart from that this place is unique. Breakfast was nice but the hygene and condition of the kitchen they prepared our food in was not clean. NOT! CLEAN! But we never caught any stomach bugs, not one of us. My partners parents and brother stayed in the other two standard rooms at the bottom far end. When it rained here the sound of the rain falling on the tropical jungle is theraputic. One word of warning! If you are walking down the stairs to any of the standard rooms take great care, as it is very slippery and dangerous. My partner's mother slipped and hit her head hard as she landed. She was very lucky. She is overweight and has not got good walking balance. Wet stairs didn't bother me one bit. This is nature and heaven. Who cares about slippery stairs. I just thought I would let you know so you are aware. The staff were wonderful. We found the pool too high in chlorine. So high that it stung our eyes and irritated our skins after spending 10 min in the water. The chlorine strength was imediately noticable entering the pool. What a experience, we will definately return. Just some maintenance needed around the villa, lower the chlorine levels of the pool and them to improve the standard of the kitchen. Advice for mosquitos. Wear bright or white clothing, especially at night. Do not eat so many sweet things, mosquitos love sweet blood. Take antihisamines a few weeks before travel. Purchase your insect repellents in Bali, they work the best. We are in Bali again this year. I Shot some wonderful proffessional video footage of this place. We would like to thank the staff for their warm hospitality, making our stay enjoyable.
