I stayed at Pande Permai for almost 2 months.. yes I know.. It is just actually the best proof how good I felt at this place. It is actually the second time I’m coming back.
If you are not driving scooter or want to be close to everything, it is very well located. You can escape from the crowd of Ubud and enjoy seeing the monkeys. The swimming pool is clean, quiet big and convenient when you want to cool down.
The staff is lovely, careful and helpful if you need to have a tour organized or something else. They clean your room every day and the bed sheets are clean too. I have tried 5 rooms and all them were good. I recommend the « luxury suit » since it has a bath and a beautiful view on the Monkey Forest. You can even practice yoga on your private balcony or enjoy reading a book. Magical !
Was not sure what to expect especially with the low price & monkey warnings (which I have to admit was our reason FOR staying) It exceeded our expectations, huge rooms with huge bathrooms, ours was a little noisy with the motor bikes on the side street next to our room, but many rooms would have been very quiet. One thing to note, lots of stairs & steps, no issue for us however.
Yes there are geckos & ants however coming for Queensland this is not unusual also with the style of the rooms, the ants were only in the bathroom & I only heard 1 gecko.
There are two clean pools, the staff were very nice & accommodating. Breakfast was good considering the low room price.
We really enjoyed our stay especially when two monkeys came to visit on our balcony, this topped it off.
This was our worst hotelexperience ever (and we have stayed at many hotels in over 50 countries). We arrived at night and it was dark at the hotel, not much light. The room didn´t look like the pictures, you weren´t allowed to flush toiletpaper (as we could in our other Bali hotels), poor breakfast, slow service, the people working there were rude and didn´t care at all, many steep stairs which got very slippery when wet... but we could have lived through this if it weren´t for the many poolparties at night. We stayed for 2 nights (had booked 5!), both nights the poolparty started at 2 o´clock and woke us up. It went on for hours. The second night we tried to call the reception (the phone in our room didn´t work). When they finally answered they didn´t care, said they would send someone (the reception was not far from the pool), but they didn´t. Finally we had to get out of our bed and go to the reception and tell them to stop the poolparty. It didn´t stop! The next dag we changed hotel! So if you aren´t a backpacker who doesn´t care maybe it´s the place for you, but if you have children (we had) or want to stay at a decent hotel don´t even think about booking this place!
I stayed for a few nights there last week and very much impressed. The staff there is very friendly and helpful, also rooms are nice and tidy with two beautiful pools. Its in a centre of Ubud, just a 2 mins walk from Monkey sanctuary. Highly recommended. 👍
We had a wonderful stay here in Ubud, right next door to the Monkey Forest. Lovely traditional stone villas - felt like we were in an ancient Balinese temple complex, with the occasional visit from the monkeys next door (including on our roof one morning!).
Very affordable and very comfortable place with a nice, but simple, breakfast provided. Our room was huge, with high (traditional) ceilings and a four-post bed with netting. There were two swimming pools so that there would be one in the sun (or shade) for most of the day.
Although we were very close to everything in Ubud, it still felt secluded. Everything was working during our stay - hot water, aircon, etc - we had no problems and the staff were very helpful to assist with onward transport, etc.
Just one point to note is that, because of the layout, there are a lot of stairs between buildings so it may not be great for the elderly or anyone with difficulty with stairs.
