It is a beautiful place! We enjoyed our stay very much. The owners were so friendly and helpful - my boyfriend just came out of surgery and they were amazing!
The room was so comfortable and big and clean and the location was great! Loved this place! We’ll be back!
Nice quiet place in the heart of Galle Fort
Only 3 rooms with a/c, no breakfasts, free water
We had a room upstairs with little balcony
Nice green wall inside the hotel
Hostess is a great woman
True, Galle is a city where everything is sadly and ridiculously overpriced (food, gift shops, etc.). I still think what you are charged in this hotel is far too much for various reasons:
- The window of our bathroom was broken (!).
- Water doesn't drain properly in the bathroom so it's everywhere on the floor, at all times.
- The room is very bright at night since there are unshuttered windows over the doors and, thus, light entering there from downstairs.
- Wi-fi is slow but that's not a major issue for me though; it worked sufficiently to check out restaurants, etc.
- No breakfast is offered.
All in all, not really recommended and disappointing. If we had paid less I would have been more understanding, but here I feel a bit robbed (like I was in other places in this city, which never happened otherwise during the two weeks I spent in Sri Lanka).
This place is a quiet lane in the heart of the Galle Fort, surrounded by local houses and other small guesthouses. The room was simple but very clean with a good shower and the aircon worked well. The only negative is the steep stairs to the upstairs rooms, not a problem for me, but if you have a mobility issue I recommend you ask for the room downstairs. The staff that run it are lovely, I would recommend Fort Sapphire for anyone looking for a centrally located budget room in Galle.
