We have just finished a family vacation at the Medusa hotel in Kas. A beautiful, clean hotel with amazingly friendly staff. All the reviews I have read appear true. Yes, there is no lift in the main hotel, which I believe is standard in Kas. If you have walking difficulties then it’s probably best to request 1st floor. However, I feel fitter and toned after two weeks so I’m not complaining. Rooms cleanef and tidied each day. Pool area always quiet, because the beautiful turquoise see is just a few metres away. Never had any problems getting space on the decking area. Saw turtles pretty much every day. Swim slowly and you can enjoy swimming side by side with turtles (bring or buy mask and snorkel!!). Staff incredibly friendly, as others have mentioned. Yes, English is limited, but communication was never ever an issue. We would love to return.
Thanks for a great stay.
The hotel was great! perfect location, easy walking distance from town (5 mins) but right near the sea front so you could relax in sun or swim in the water.
The room was very clean (they mopped our floor everyday) and the buffet breakfast was amazing. all the cheese and meats you could ask for, fresh fruit, cereals and salads. The room has two balcony's one of switch had a slight sea view. great for relaxing in the evening. The terraced area has amazing views especially at sunset.
the pool was never busy and the service on the decking area with the sun loungers was great. very attentive and smiley. the food and cocktails were perfect too! The pina colada and the frozen smoothies are a must have!!!
We even saw a sea turtle eating a squid right outside the hotel in the water.
Couldn't have asked for better. Will definitely go back. Thank you ☺
Beautiful sea view from the hotel. The standard room was the smallest room in size that I’ve ever stayed in throughout my entire travels over the world for the past decade. The walls are quite thin and we would occasionally wake up to people yelling through the corridors or arguing on the phone past midnight.
However, the room was clean and the cleaners always kept it very tidy and neat. The Turkish breakfast was tasty. The pool bar and the beach bar were closed which was inconvenient. We were only able to get cocktails from the beach bar of the hotel next door for a greater surcharge after I made a special request to the staff at Medusa. The other hotel’s cocktails were amazing but I can’t speak for Medusa’s. There was also construction next to the beach lounges.
The reception staff were quite unorganised. I had informed them as soon as I arrived that we would like to do a Kekova tour. They said they would let us know even when I made an effort to call them later in the afternoon to double check. However they never got back to us.
Stayed two nights. Was not a great choice for us because of so many stairs. Elevator was out of service. Supposedly to be repaired our day of arrival, but no change in status.
Our sea view room had an outstanding view of the bay. Room was on the smallish side. Clean. Bed comfortable. TV with only Turkish stations. A/C did not work when we arrived, but repaired after second call to desk. Breakfast about average. Good coffee. Staff was pretty attentive. Person at reception could warm up a bit.
Pool is small. Ocean swimming available, but another three flights down. Suggestions to the hotel would be an upgrade on patio shading
Medusa Hotel is in a great position with its own access to the water for swimming and a cafe/bar at the sun deck water level. Close walk into town to restaurants and shops. We were advised to take a junior suite as the room would be bigger and we would have ocean views of the Mediterranean. The room was big and included a small lounge area, the decor was dated though. After walking up 153 stairs to our junior suite we were very disappointed to find our room was on the side. We could see the water from the side balcony but it wasn't what we were expecting nor was our travel agent who was very surprised. I walked back down the stairs to reception to say there must have been a mistake. The older lady at reception didn't want to know and quickly brushed me aside by saying there was no guarantee of a front room. She was very unhelpful. The front rooms were already taken by deluxe rooms which isn't at all clear on their website?! There were a lot of stairs and no lift. There's a pool and bar outside the breakfast room which was a pleasant area to be. However, the bar which was never open! Being the end of June and the hotel appeared full, it was ridiculous the bar was closed. Other people staying at Medusa also complained about the bar being closed. We even had difficulty getting ice to take up to our room for a drink. Breakfast was included, average. We wouldn't stay there again. There's much better value elsewhere in Kas with helpful reception staff. Most of the staff were pleasant though but had very little or no English which we didn't mind. The lady who seems to be the manager/boss is like a sergeant major who rarely gave us the time of day, let alone a smile or welcome. Disappointing but Kas is beautiful which made up for it.
