Had a really great stay overall. All the staff were really lovely and went out of their way to ensure you had a good time. Special shout out to Tony on the animation team, Siri on the pool bar and Sezay who is a very, very funny man!
The only complaint I have is unfortunately what would stop me from returning again in the future - the air con in the hotel is appalling. It's incredibly hot in all areas of the hotel and gets extremely unpleasent at times. The hotel have clearly made a decision not to turn it on - perhaps for economical reasons, to recuperate lost earnings due to covid-19? Whatever the reasons, its unacceptable not to provide your paying guests with air con. What was even worse for us is that the air con in our room didn't even work (other guests we spoke to confirmed that theirs did work, so this experience was unique to us). I personally did not sleep properly for my entire stay due to the sheer heat in our room. I twice asked for maintenance to come out and fix it but was twice told it was working fine. It was really difficult to communicate this to the staff because there aren't many who can speak/understand English to a good enough standard for you to be able to communicate effectively. We asked whether we could have a fan for our room but they said that they didn't have any. We asked whether we could move rooms but we weren't able to. It was such a shame because we really enjoyed everything else about our stay, it's an decent hotel overall - albeit more 4 star than 5 in my opinion.
One other minor point I would like to make is regarding Rama from the animation team. Firstly I would like to say that he is very good at his job, he brings lots of energy to what he does and clearly works very hard. My criticism of him is that he didn't once try and engage me in conversation and spoke directly to my male friend and never to me. It was like I wasn't there. He would come over and fist bump my friend and ask him how he was, look only at my friend and never to me. I decided to address this with him one night when he asked my friend a question about me when I was sat with him - I asked why he needed to ask my friend a question about me when I was sat next to him and could be asked directly. Rama clearly did not appreciate this being addressed with him and had a surly look on his face. He reluctantly allowed me to answer his question but interrupted me part way through me speaking and again continued to look only at my friend and only converse with him - and of course, fist bumped only my friend and walked away. Very odd behaviour which made me feel uncomfortable each and every time he came over to speak. Like I say though, he is very good at his job and an asset to the animation team.....just has quite a bit of growing up to do!
