My last visit was 4 years ago, and i really does come back(https://www.tripadvisor.com.my/ShowUserReviews-g298298-d1770300-r275463303-The_Banjaran_Hotsprings_Retreat-Ipoh_Kinta_District_Perak.html#REVIEWS) :).
This time I’m coming back with purpose and it is propose to my girlfriend. Things were prepared in an almost ad-hoc manner, however staffs work in Banjaran sort it out for me. The hotel helps me to collect my proposal bouquet and also cooperative to scam my girlfriend to warm up the proposal. They had the initiative offered me light decoration in the villa that I’ve booked and made the proposal turn into success. In addition, they arrange the same villa that I’ve visited in 4 years back. I’m almost worry-free and just let the show on, kudos to all the staff.
The experience after 4 years, the resort served welcome drinks and dessert upon arrival (what a relief after a long journey from KL). The resort had expanded with some new facilities e.g vending machine for soft drinks & mineral water & ice-cream(free flow :P), covered car park, sky-bar, a smaller size lake view villa and the rest pretty much the same as my last visit.
It always a perfect staycation at Banjaran as you will never get bored in it. They easily cater to the active and non-active group of people as they having meditation cave, steam cave, hot spring, yoga class, spa, gym room, swimming pool, and if you are not keen to these activities, you are allowed to do nothing and spend your me-time at your own villa.
They served breakfast can be in the villa/ the restaurant, they had improvement compare to my last visit in presentation way and taste(certified by fiancée :P)
Again, it is a memorable visit to Banjaran, but yet too many things to do but too little time. So next visit gonna have dinner at Jeff Cellar, see you next time Banjaran. <3
Unfortunately there's no 10 stars for ya :( else going to rate with that

My partner and I visited the Banjaran for a weekend getaway and it was absolute paradise from the moment we arrived. Our stay was faultless! We stayed in a one bedroom water front villa - the views from the villa were fabulous and I loved watching the monkeys play in the trees above. The interior of the room was beautiful and well kept - the bed was very comfortable. I particularly loved our private hot spring pool in the villa!
There is lots to see in the hotel complex including hot-springs, an array of caves and the swimming pool. This is the perfect place if you love nature - as you are surrounded by impressive mountains and jungle! We also visited the spa which was fantastic and an enjoyable experience.
I look forward to returning to this jungle paradise in the near future. Thank you for a wonderful and memorable stay!

This was our first stop on a trip to Malaysia to switch off from day to day life and get into the holiday mode. Banjaran did not disappoint with our palatial room which was spectacularly clean. We appreciated the sense of humour of the staff with our fluffy tiger (!) and our whole stay was fabulous. The 'jungle walk' was less of a walk and more of a very short amble over to a water park on the other side of the gate which was pretty naff in our opinion but each to their own. You then can't walk back to Banjaran, but have to wait for a car to pick you up which seemed a bit odd but that would be my only minor whinge.

The first decision in booking the Banjaran is whether to have a garden villa or a water villa. Both types come with a plunge pool and a jacuzzi (with geothermal water piped in) so it is purely a matter of personal preference. We chose the garden villa which was very spacious and extremely comfortable.
When we arrived, it was drizzling which meant we were wandering around with umbrellas (provided by the hotel of course) but it also added to the beauty of the place. Seeing the geothermal lake and the surrounding hills and lush greenery through the rain made it slightly magical.
Once the rain stopped, we had a long soak in the jacuzzi. The water that was piped in directly from the hot spring was too hot got us to get in directly so we had to add in some cold tap water (Tip: turn off the geothermal water tap and allow the water in the jacuzzi time to cool down. Then when you want to get into the jacuzzi, just add more geothermal water)
Wander around the resort and you will discover the swimming pool, with its wonderfully warm water (the tiles are warmed by the ground). There are also the dipping pools by the geothermal lake - a great place to soak away your cares when you are surrounded by such beautiful scenery. It is forbidden to enter the lake itself as the water is too hot.
There is also the reflexology pool where you can walk on lots of submerged stones arranged to give your feet a massage as you walk. Next to that, you can sit and let your feet be nibbled by the garra fura fish. If you prefer more heat, there is also a steam cave under the man made waterfall. For those who want to meditate, the crystal cave provides a calm environment for this purpose.
The hotel spa provides a wide range of spa treatments and it is advisable to book your appointment early as they are very busy.
Food and drink - there is Jeff's Cave for drinks every evening. Pomelo is the coffee house/restaurant offering breakfast, lunch, tea and dinner. As the hotel is near Ipoh, many guests prefer to drive out to Ipoh to enjoy the local fare.
Breakfast at Pomelo left a lot to be desired. The fruit juices were great as they are freshly made (and not out of a box). Then there is the usual egg station and local food. Selection was decent but quality not up to the standard one would expect from a hotel of this standard. The fried noodles tasted of stale cooking oil and we found a strand of hair in the smoked salmon (big oops).
Another point to note - as the hotel is surrounded by lots of water and plants, it is inevitable that there are mosquitoes. While the hotel provides some repellant spray for guests plus electrically operated repellants for the room, do bring your own as well.
Overall, it was a great experience and the staff were friendly and helpful. A wonderful place to rejuvenate and re-energise.

Overall experience is EXCELLENT!! Quiet, private, very clean and amazing room service. They cleaned up our room twice a day. We were given a complimentary red wine, some fruit juice and chocolates. It was our honeymoon trip, so the bed was decorated accordingly with a slice of cake and a wish card. Mosquito repellent was given too. Breakfast were unlimited, its a buffet style. It a must go place for all the couples.
