If I need to summarize my stay at Noordin Mews into one single descriptive, that word would be SENSATIONAL. But one sentence does not do justice to the experience we had so it is only fair that I elaborate further to accurately capture my experience on this marvelous property with my fiancé and golden retriever pet.

Noordin Mews is situated within a cluster of heritage buildings that likely have a history of at least half a century if not more. Its exact location is sandwiched between shop lots and its outside appearance does not give off that distinctive vibe of a traditional hotel. However, upon our entrance into the reception area, we were transcended into the colonial time of Old Malaya. The bygone interior was maintained in its most virtuous state. Equally praiseworthy is the common dining space, pool area, and room interior where the antique elements and modern decorations seamlessly fused to define a modern Peranakan building.

However, it is not the building that made our stay memorable. It was the staff and excellent customer service that we received that distinguished Noordin Mews from other hotels. The noble yet pleasant treatment provided by Belinda, Edric and Anung manifests the familiar warmth which I can metaphorically relate as close family members or friends visiting over Christmas and New Years. In addition, their attention to details and ability to anticipate our needs as pet owners on vacation exceeded all our expectations. With limited resources as a boutique hotel, the staff had gone above and beyond to ensure every aspect of our stay is taken care of. One example I could recall was when Edric would give his best effort to provide us a lengthy recommendation of the best street food or restaurant in town even though he was occupied with serving guests of another private event. At the end of the stay, the staff of Noordin Mews had not only become a family to us but also to our dog. This has to be a bespoke customer service of the highest standard, representative of the Malaysian hospitality that make connections between places and between hearts.

We stayed here for 3 nights as a family of 5 in the 2 bedroom suite. The rooms were very comfortable and spacious with two bathrooms. Staff are exceptional, very friendly and helpful with everything to make our stay special.
Breakfast was just perfect and very yummy.

Edric went out of his way to surprise the children with a small gift each evening awaiting them on their beds, this made bedtime super exciting.
The swimming pool was just perfect for all after a busy morning sightseeing in George Town.
We will definitely be back and we wouldn’t think to stay anywhere else.

Noordin Mews is a lovely place for many reasons. 1. - It is centrally located and getting around with Grab was easy and it costs around RM5 one way to get anywhere within the city. 2. The rooms are clean, spacious and nicely decorated with paraphernalia reminiscent of the old Malaysia - attention to details makes it a stay to remember. 3. Staff are warm and friendly, if you are new to Penang, you can look to frontdesk for some great suggestions. 4. I love the breakfast spread that comes with the room and the lovely good night snacks/sweets that rests on my pillows before I retire to bed - it is often the smallest gestures that warms the heart and Noordin does not disappoint. 5. I have no pets but it is a pet friendly place, so you can bring along your doggo friends.6. For a small establishment, the pool is commendable but I didn't have much time to take a dip - all the reason I should go back and stay with Noordin on my next trip to Penang!

Oh is there any downside? The only one I can think of is the noise from the streets - motorcycles zipping by but nothing too noisy that it disrupts a good night's sleep.

This cozy boutique is well-located and has a variety of restaurants and shops within walking distance. The staff is incredibly accommodating and kind towards animals. We brought our well-behaved corgi and bird and they allowed us to bring them to breakfast which was a treat for us and the animals. The breakfast was healthy, delicious and plentiful. They take your order the day before so you don’t have to wait long for your order. We didn’t go in the pool, but it looked inviting. Would definitely recommend to pet owners!
