The room is clean, although not very trendy design (boutique style) but it is very comfortable. The best is it is located in Gaya street so looking for eating place is very convenient. There are plenty of shops around. It is also near to the beach and the Philippino market. I did not take the hotel breakfast as there are plenty of chinese and halal shops around. Although it is at the main road. The room is quiet enough. Maybe the room i stayed is not facing the main road but the carpark behind the hotel.

Room Tip: Facing the carpark is quieter. Wifi works well even my room is towards the end

Loved the architure, the front entrance & the layout of my room. Clean bathroom and a comfortable bed. Lots of good dinning within a short walk from the hotel. Lucky you, if you are at the hotel during Sunday Market. For me, best of all, was the sight & sounds of the 100's if not 1000's of birds that roost each night, in the lovely trees in front of the hotel. Those birds sure have lots to talk over before settleing in for the night.... I LOVED IT!

If you are spending some time in KK, you should definitely stay at the Jessleton. Jessleton’s location is great, right near the Sabah Tourism board where you can get useful information on what to do and what to see. There is also a supermarket a few blocks up from the Tourism board where you can get baked goods for snacks and of course a 7Eleven is nearby and an Internet café as well. The harbour for the ferries/boats is also a short walk away.
We found the service to be very customer friendly and the staff was always ready to assist. The bellboy at the door was always smiling and made us feel most welcome every time we entered the hotel.
Make sure you have breakfast included in your room rate, otherwise you should try somewhere else for breakfast. On our first night bf was not included and it cost us around 20RM/per person for some toast and fruits. The restaurant where the breakfast is served is very nice but when we were there it was deserted, we were the only customers!
Apparently the Italian restaurant at the hotel is very good, we just had drinks and dessert there, which was delicious. There's also an other Italian restaurant right outside the hotel, Little Italy, which has good food and it always packed during lunch or dinner.
We had a deluxe room, which was beautifully furnished, it really had a colonial feel with all the modern amenities one would need. The room was quite large and the view was onto the street. It’s very sound proof; the noise from the street never disturbed us.
There are artefacts and photos around the hotel hallways and walls, which are interesting to look at – they give you a glimpse of the history of the place.
Compared to the Hyatt this is so much better value for money and it definitely is not a bulk hotel. The only thing missing is a pool but then again you can take a boat to the Tunku Abdul Rahman national park’s islands for a day of swimming. Definitely recommended!

the room was adequate for two persons. All amenties were in place. I wish the room can be brighter for reading purposes. Food & shop were all around the area; wet market, shopping malls, banks, pharmacies, taxis, etc. Staff were courteous and response from them were fast and accurate. You are able to get good breakfast meals like bread, eggs and cofee, mee from the eating shops nearby. Definitely a good hotel for the average traveller.

Admist the hustle and bustle of old town Kota Kinabalu, Jesselton does not lose its charm as one of the best boutique hotel in town. There were only 32 rooms, over 5 or 6 levels, so it is very cozy, discreet.
The hotel staff were friendly, rooms were clean, all electrical appliance works. Though these were all basic but a lot of hotels, even the 5-star or international chain sometime failed to comply. The room, though, might be a bit small for some.
The Gaya Sunday Street Market is right at the door step and walking distance to Jesselton Port and Waterfront.

Yes the room has bath tub but I think there’s no car park especially during Sunday due to Sunday market
