Our group of 11 persons took a 4-day business trip to Guangzhou, and occupied 5 rooms at Guangzhou Grand View Golden Palace Apartment. The rooms were ready before our 6 AM check in. We actually paid for the rooms a day earlier to ensure room availability. The room is big, with a loft where the bed is located. The bed is quite hard. The room can accommodate 4 persons- 2 persons sharing the queen bed at the loft, which has its own toilet and shower area, and the other 2 guests can be accommodated at the first floor where pull-out sofa and a roll away bed can be placed. There is a toilet at that level but no shower area. It has a big refrigerator, kitchen, coffee/tea making facility, and washing machine. The free internet connection is also good. Elderly persons may not be able to conveniently access the loft as marble stairs are narrow, and there are no hand rails. For short, it is not PWD-friendly. We were not able to use the facilities though as we can't understand the Chinese words. We could not even access TV channels. It is quite inconvenient to be going up and down the stairs to open doors for my children visiting our room. Room maid is quite prompt in making up the room. Initially, the bath towel had hair and I had it replaced. The room price is really reasonable. The Front desk staff do not speak English but we managed to understand each other using our electronic "language translator". I will consider that apartment again in our future business trip as it offers an excellent location. There are big malls surrounding the apartment, supermarket (Aeon) at Teemall across it. There are good restaurant choices too within the building and a Starbucks at the ground floor where we can conveniently meet and have breakfast.

Room Tip: Our room had a great view of the Canton Tower. I am not sure which side is that.

The space is huge, for the price. it comes with kitchen and living room which is truly amazing. Bedroom is on the loft space. The design is not bad but it is poorly maintained. The wall-paper is coming off, the walls are dirty and design to be in better condition. Lighting is poor, as some warm and some cool.

The living room's sofa didnt feel clean. Generally, the kitchen and living room space is ok. The bedroom feels a bit down, as the bed is really hard. and felt like it is just a space with mattress, instead of a decently done up space - makes me feel that the room doesnt feel clean overall.

The phone is also missing from the room, for this particular room which i stayed in. The wifi was not working and had to walk to the reception counter down a few floors. The receptionist, instead of trying to attend to their wifi issue, asked me how can it be?! a bit defensive.

Probably a good stay, if you are not alone, otherwise, you may feel a bit creeped out because of the torn wall paper... and inconsistent colour lighting..

Hotel location is convenient and close to the aquarium. The hotel room renovation is not bad. My kids love duplex and that's why I chose to stay here. Hygiene is acceptable in general except that the floor is really dirty as your white socks will get dark after walking a few steps. I guess people wear shoes living in such flats. The beds are hard like woods. Can't sleep well. Otherwise, it's fine.

Good: plenty of space, great location, and free wifi (not the fastest, but useable).

Bad: hard to find for the cabbies (just let the cab driver take you to the Marriott, its right next door), NO GYM (even though one of the travel website says it has one), not very clean (found empty condom package when I dropped my phone behind the night stand), most appliances are shut down such as the washer, but you can ask the staff to turn them on if they can understand you, you need to take a transfer to a different bank of elevators when trying to get to your room. It is a pretty much a place for the locals where they pack in a lot of young people into one unit. I had to pay a premium to stay here since it was full a lot of other places and it was during some kind of festival. You should not pay more than $100 per night for this place, may be around $60 is a fair price.

The one bed apartment is spacious and convenient for a couple or 2 people sharing. The 2 bedroom apartment can sleep up to 4-5 depending on the beds requested for. It is not a hotel and there is no pool, Gym or Restaurant but the rooms have nice kitchens but they don't provide any crockery or utensils. It is very well located for business travelers but I would not recommend it for families or leisure travel.
