We stayed from june 28th to july 1st 2016. Old room. The installations of hotel are old. The two AC are old and noisy, and they do not clean. The freezer of the fridge was broken and we lost 1 kg of shrimps and fish. The kitchen and cockpit is ok, but only one cockpit was working. Breakfast is ok serving good tapiocas, fruits, cakes, cooked roots, eggs, sausages. The sea view of the room, swimming pool area and breakfast room is nice. The sauna was abandoned. It is a well placed hotel near beaches, touristic attractions, bus stops and it is in a safe area. But this hotel needs a change.

We wanted a nice comfy hotel after trecking in the mountains so decided to go for something more pricey and 'upcale' than a pousada. Having experienced Ondina Apart I am adamant a pousada would have been much better ...
The hotel advertises as 4 stars establishment and is charges quite a lot so you expect at least decent facilities and polite staff. Nobody speaks English, even the staff at reception. The wifi is working only in thhe lobby area and nobody knows what to do about it. The whole building, as well as the rooms are shabby, with paint peeling of the walls and the omnipresent smell of boiled potatoes wafting in the air. The room we were given had a street view so it was rather noisy and it looked nothing like the one shown in the pics when we booked - it was old and shabby. There is nothing around the hotel area, no bars, restaurants - not even a shop to buy water (no bar in the room). When we checked out, they got us a taxi to the airport which was supposed to be licensed (we asked for it with help of google translator) but it wasnt and the guy tried to rip us off. They have a nice swimming pool and a bit of a beach which partially compensate for all other drawbacks however if you seek comfort and relax opt for a different establishment, preferably in Barra area.

Me and my wife got a wonderful stay at Ondina Apart. The hotel has a private beach with beach umbrellas (you pay R$10/day to the owner). They have a very nice restaurant where one can have a nice supper in the evening.
From the front desk to the room service/cleaning the people are excellent.

This is a "hotel" where the owners are clearly "cash cowing" - miking every Real without putting anything back. The only good think was the hard work and care of the staff - and the breakfast. The rooms on the north side (street) are very noisy - avoid. The air conditioning has not been upgraded and is weak and sounds like a Harley Davidson in the room - so you have the choice of not sleeping but being sort of cool or partly sleeping and being covered in sweat. When we were there there was a flood from a burst pipe in another floor - water poured out of the ceiling and into people's rooms and the lift. Breakfast is good, with a nice view of the sea - and the pool is swimmable, unlike the sea. Owners of the Hotel - spend some money on maintenance and thank goodness you have the staff you have - they are your best asset

Staff is friendly and tries to be helpful despite lack of english, good security, nice pool and bar over looking beach, good breakfast buffet at hotel restaurant near pool, mix of shops and another restaurant at lower level (unfortunately neither restaurant stands as special just typical)

Rooms all have kitchenettes and 1 or 2 bedrooms, and 1 or 2 baths but quality can vary greatly because some if not most are individually owned but managed/book by the hotel administration or independently by the owners themselves or outside agencies. The building is large several hundred units of varying sizes and over 25 years old so the room quality can vary greatly depending on whether the owner has invested in renovating over the years and building overall is starting to show its age.

Located on a busy street that is a Carnaval route but street noise not much of an issue especially with rooms face ocean.

Building Wi-Fi generally works but is temperamental. Building has backup diesel generator for elevator and other essentials during the inevitable local power outage.

Many buses and taxis available in front.
