Stayed here with close and extended family for 2 nights last week. Its a neat and clean place - right on the main road close to BSF check Post (Entry to White Desert). While the Bungas (Huts) and surroundings have a perfect blend of local village culture and architecture, their Dining Hall adjacent to Reception Bunga is quite cramped. The whole Dining area is in shambles and very unhygienic. The Wash Room adjacent to Dining Hall is in pathetic shape. I was surprised to see the Staff washing Plates in the area designated for washing Hands. Their Kitchen, Dining Hall and Front Office Management lacks professionalism - probably for the reason that its being managed by Villagers or the Gram Panchayat as we were told. Table cloths, Table Frills, Chairs etc. required immediate cleaning because all these looked dirty. When we pointed out, they changed frills of some of the Tables in Outdoor. While the stay was comfortable, we had to compromise on other aspects. Food was quite spicy and many of us fell sick. Its a pure Vegetarian place.

A resort with very average rooms with practically no room service , no phone in the room leave alone room service . Dirty towels and water , a stinking hot kettle and not even tea available on room service ! Food included in the package was at a nearby resort which was also too oily with burnt reheated chapatis . Never to b visited !

Yes that's true that this resort is closest to white desert. But thats the only advantage. If visiting with family visit at your own risk. resort charge hefty amount of 4K per night but for all meals had to walk more than a km to another resort. And the reason we were given was, owner took bookings in lean period. Meals also were extremely spicy & too rigid with timing. If you miss dinner with reason of visiting rann, you may have to sleep empty stomach.

Resort though location is good. Staff was extremely ignorant. Not giving soaps, shampoos without asking twice. Dust everywhere in the room. Basically not properly maintained.

I will not recommend stay here to anyone specially in lean period. During festival they might still be okay.

Ease of access: This place is closest to the entry gate of the White Rann. That makes it great to access the White Rann as and when you wish. Driving conditions are extremely good & there is ample of parking space in the hotel.

Comfort: Good comfy accomodation. The rooms are circular, termed as ‘Bhungas’ gives a traditional look, albeit built with concrete. The toilets had a water geyser. So there was no problem of hot water in the cold morning.

Hospitality: Tough owned by the Gujarat Tourism, the hotel is managed by local Grampanchayat. So one may not expect a city side hospitality here. But the staff is helpful is you ask for anything.

Food: There won’t be any problem if someone loves Gujarati style food because the food (which is included in the package) is basic & typically Gujarati style. There is a dining hall & food & beverages are served here only. There is no room service.

Cleanliness: Room was good & clean. Toilet was clean as well.

X-Factor: If one is expecting a musical evening with traditional dance performances, then this place is not for you. The main advantage of this place is it’s promity to the Rann. The big tent cities are quite far off. And if you are not having your personal car it may be a problem. If you are staying here, you can actually walk (2.5 kms approx) to the White Rann as well.

NOTE: PLEASE MANTAIN THE SANCTITY OF THE WHITE RANN. WITH GROWING TOURISM, THE PLACE WON’T TAKE LONG TO BECOME A GARBAGE-RANN. IT WAS SAD TO SEE PEOPLE THROWING BOTTLES, EATABLES, TOBACCO SPITS & WRAPPERS AROUND.

1:) CARRY A GARBAGE BAG WITH YOU & DUMP ALL THE WASTE IN IT. DISPOSE IT IN CITY SIDE HOTEL OR A MUNICIPAL WASTE COLLECTION CENTER.
2:) CARRY A 5-LIT BISLERI AND REFILL YOUR SMALL BOTTLE. THIS WOULD REDUCE THE NO OF BOTTLES.
3:) THE PARKING AREA AT THE ENTRY OF WHITE RANN HAS STALLS LIKE A SEASHORE. IF YOU CHOOSE TO EAT THERE, ENSURE YOU DO NOT THROW ANYTHING, NEITHER ALLOW THE HAWKERS TO THROW ANYTHING.

Toran Rann resort is close to the Rann but the room is OK and basic. Also food was very basic and the meals are not included in the tariff . Though a decent place to stay and enjoy the runn of Kutch and Runn Utsav since other options are very costly. However the place lacks recreation facilities.
