The photos do not resemble the hotel one bit. The cleanliness was horrible! Especially for a supposedly good reputed hotel like that. My husband and I entered to a room that did not even look like it was cleaned before, a lot of stuff in the washroom were moldy, rusty and not a sight that anyone would like to be in. The room was dusty, there were drawings on the wall, the hallway was full of tissues, hair, all kinds of gross stuff. We immediately went back to the reception, they gave us a better room (at first they wanted to charge us extra for the new room which honestly was even rude to ask considering the experience, they gave us the room free of charge) but we are still never going back to that resort again. The only good thing was the view, pool (for the most part), and just some of the staff were very sweet, and how close it is to the beach. The manager was extremely rude, she would not address my husband and I face to face, and whenever I would talk to her directly she would not even give me eye contact, and say something in Bahasa to the staff (I’m assuming so I wouldn’t understand). So yeah, DO NOT GO! Save your money! I would never pay that much again for this kind of a room.
the hotel is good for Chilling Out and Family activities.
room was clean and tidy. a little bit ru down but it's fine for me.
staffs in the hotel are helpful.
food is ok and acceptable.
have several water sport and challenge park activities.
choose sea-view room.
swimming pool are good for kids.
we booked the suite with beach view. The room is big and spacious and comfortable beds. There is no direct access to beach, but has an entry to the beach outside the resort. almost like a private beach, but even public can access.
the swimming pool is small, and most crowded throughout the day, may be it was during weekends. Not sure during weekdays.
the breakfast spread had separate stall for Roti canai on Saturday morning during our stay, which was good.
live egg station. but otherwise there is not much options for vegetarians.
We had asked for extra towel for kid, they said all towels were used and no spare towels to provide.
they have to be prepared for the almost full booking.
Booked through Expedia for 2 nights stay for the CNY holidays. Read horrible reviews from TA, so I checked in not putting a lot of high hopes, furthermore I know this hotel has been around for ages.
Check in day was swift and the room was surprisingly clean but there is a strong unpleasant odour throughout. Bed linens were passable, pretty comfy, bathroom has toiletries. Nice view from the window too. I have to complain about the cleaning service in the morning. I left the room at 8am and return at 1pm but to my horror, the room was still in a mess and the make-my-room sign still dangling on the door! And the cleaners are still cleaning in the room next door. What is happening?
For a frequent traveller like me, I know how to appreciate hotel and I think the assets of Admiral Marina are the front counter staffs from the concierge all the way to the restaurant staffs. Polite and friendly.
Breakfast has limited choice though for both days I stayed. Would prefer some continental selection but mainly Malaysian food. Swimming pool was horrendous. Malay Malaysians just soaked themselves inside the water with full clothed on together with the head scarves. The scene was disgusting. The hotel should set swimming attire rules, saw few Westerners shaking their heads in disbelieves.
Receptionist : okay, not that friendly
Bellboys : very welcoming and helpful, professionals
Room : corridor is dirty, room has damp smell, bed is acceptable, linen is dirty, floor quite dusty - told the room service to vacum but they didnt come, ac was not that cold despite temp 16c.
Toilet : spacious, clean, had good shower
Breakfast : good
Pool : water looks dirty and not well kept.
Overall, the hotel has amazing view, i think they should renovate the place.
