Pictures online looked gorgeous. However upon arrival you can tell the hotel is a little tired. We came here with another couple and their kids to have a little respite from the city.

Check in was ok. Like previous reviewers, we waited close to 20 minutes to get checked in. We were given ‘tickets’ for breakfast and lounge access. So it’s like going to the state fair, a coupon for every ride. Shouldn’t this be done through a hotel guests system? Provide your room number and everything pulls up?

Breakfast was very disappointing. There’s no egg station. We ordered an omelette, it came plain. There were no fresh juices, orange juice was from a concentrate. More like a cordial. I understand due to C19 SOP’s are needed, but you can still prepare food without compromising on quality. It seriously felt like glorified canteen food.

We stayed at the 1 bedroom Water Villa. Based on the reviews, the GM has been apologising consistently to countless previous guests, with promises of change and better training for staff. Unfortunately this has not been forthcoming during our stay. Trash were still placed out in front of the pathways, leftover room service plates were all over the pathways, the room fans were squeaky loud, etc.

For 1K a night, you are charging the same as other 5-star resorts with a Junior Suite. Similar price bracket as St. Regis, Ritz-Carlton, Pangkor Laut and Tanjung Jara. Unfortunately the level of care and quality is way off the mark. This hotel is officially rated 4-star.

Rooms were tired. We found an old underwear hanging on the shower head. Toilets were leaking. Massive scaling in the shower area. Broken blinds. Doesn’t really make you feel pampered.

Current pool SOP of the hotel is you need to book for pool usage in 30-minute slots. During check-in, Duty Manager Mr. Rozi mentioned that we can book to use the pool by dialling ‘6’. We did, but the operator told us on the phone pool bookings can only be made in person at the reception. So we ended just going to the pool, and we were let in. While the kids were in the pool, we had a large amount of hotel guests without the proper pool attire in the pool. T-shirts and shorts in the pool?Also same in the adult pool area. We left shortly after.

Avi-Lounge was a big let down, for us at least. 2 drinks only per day. Don’t forget your ticket ! Not quite the club lounge at a Holiday Inn or Courtyard, 4-star rated hotel equivalents. The lounge has a spectacular view, but unspectacular service. I thought the general practice for club lounges is you get unlimited drinks during specific hours?

Wi-Fi was horrible. So if you are planning to do a little work on your laptop while on vacation, forget it. And it wasn’t just our room, our friends next door were having the same issue with connectivity. In this day and age, a stable Wi-Fi connection is the most basic amenity to any hotel. What a massive fail.

The only redeeming experience for us during our stay is the petting zoo. The animals look healthy and it’s a great activity for the kids.

There’s a public beach really close to the hotel. At night during low tide, the locals can just walk over and hunt for little crabs, and they can easily come up right to the villa. Imagine the general public can come right underneath the villa, and there’s no hotel security to protect the guests. Not quite safe is it?

If you are by the villas, it is very noisy due to the proximity of the public beach. You can hear people screaming playing beach football at 11 pm at night. This went all the way up to 3am. Not quite the respite we had in mind. And no, the hotel management did not do anything about it.

I’ve been to 50-year old local hotels here in Malaysia, but the property is kept up-to-date with proper maintenance, and most importantly the hotel staff is the ‘heart’ of any successful hotel. Unfortunately we felt this was nonexistent in this hotel.

This is the longest review I’ve posted here in TripAdvisor, for good reason. We don’t need the GM to apologise again like the others, just do better. We still had a blast in PD with our friends, but we won’t be in a hurry to come back anytime soon. Actually we won’t be back. At the present state, we feel we can find better value elsewhere.

I am not a picky traveller and have been to many hotel and resorts in my life time. Having said that I’m totally disappointed with this resort. Dusty, dirty rooms, aged and non-existent customer service plus only two restaurants open.

Generally not attentive and ignorant, struggle to fulfil the most basic needs or tasks when requested. It appears clearly that the staffs are not trained at all or have the skills to attend even when told clearly what we need. The managers are hardly seen perhaps the reason for staffs to be left not guided.
The pool was extremely dirty, there was slimy black moss and dried leaves at the edges left. Clear sign of no vacuuming nor cleaning.

Food and restaurants:
The food served here was absolutely a disaster. You’re better off heading into town to eat because whether it is the coffee house or poolside restaurant ; the food was tasteless and oily. Keeps me wonder if the food was cooked by trained chefs! The breakfast was serving cheap stuffs! No match to even 2/3star. What a shame.

I booked a P.Water Chalet suppose to have an ocean view but was facing the Public beach. What a cheat?! Besides the room was the same as the water chalet. I had to request a different room due to the loud music from the beach but was not granted. The pillows were very lumpy, the beds are uncomfortably and the lighting is in the room was really bad. Lamp shade was broken and fused lights not replaced. The furniture has marks of extensive damage,you may find hair on the pillows from previous guests.

The balcony and the lazy chair were full of birds droppings. NOT cleaned for age. Walking on the balcony was a total risk as the railing was shaky with loose nails.

Overall impression:
Do not stay here. No idea how this resort is still in business in COVID times considering the dirty rooms, mediocre food and the worst customer service. A resort that I will strike off from my future holiday list for sure. Spend your hard earned money wisely.
This was by far the worst resort I have ever had the displeasure of staying at in my entire life. I even took sometime speaking to other guest and YES they re-affirmed that the EVERYTHING here have gone down the hill.I do not recommend this place to anyone. It pains me to give a review this bad, but...it's the truth. *shrugs*

My wife arranged for a holiday trip on my birthday as we have been to this resort some years back.We noticed loads of negative reviews but we discounted them based on our previous pleasurable experience and thought that it could have been sheer hard-luck for some or mere exaggerations.
I couldn't have been more wrong when our expectation was shattered into pieces in reality. This is hands down, the worst place I've ever had the displeasure of staying at.
The receptionist was rude and abruptly handed us our keys and told us our room number. Nothing about where to find the said room, any of the "amenities" of the hotel, etc. We went to retrieve our bags and the bellman were no where to be seen. We just wanted to get into our room without an issue. The next thing we noticed was that the Wi-Fi doesn't work in the room. I again return to the front desk and ask if it works in the room. They said it did, but when I went back, again no signal.
The chalet was extremely old and dilapidated. You can see black dirt on the wall and spider web at the ceiling edges. The balcony was falling apart. The furniture we decades old and sticky; a clear sign of no cleaning/wiping. The garden areas were stuffed with trashes. My wife was attempting to take a shower, but the water won't maintain a constant temperature akin of cold shower. Strands of hair were noticeable on the shower floor. The chalet was humid as can be, despite the air conditioning running full blast. The floor was that slick/slimy feeling from the moisture. The bathroom sink and toilet were dirty and when we pulled back the covers on the bed we found hair! We kicked the covers off since we wouldn't be using them anyways due to the humid room and attempt to go to sleep. We tried to use the TV, but it wouldn't turn on.
There was only one power outlet near the bedside so both of our phones, without wifi of course, were plugged into that outlet. Humid and in discomfort, we slept somehow out of pure exhaustion from our day, but it didn't come easy. The breakfast reminded us of our school canteen food. More decent it was perhaps!

We couldn't get out of this place fast enough. So to recap:

No A/C in the room.
No working television.
No Wi-Fi in the room.
No bottled water in our chalet.
No working telephone.
The staff were not hospitable.
Chalet walls that were super dirty.
Dirty sink and toilet.(urine stench)
Shower wouldn't maintain a constant temperature.
F&B, food during bfast were bland and tasteless. Not sure if the taste the food first before serving.

Oh and did I mention the HAIR found in the bed covers&shower floor plus the pool was filled with black slimy dirt and trashes everywhere when I went under
It’s repulsive to think that this place was advertised as a destination. There is a serious management problem at this resort. Noted some replies by the GM assuring improvement but what we experienced indicates all talks but no actions! He should fix the house, get to the bottom of the issues. Avillion is surely taking a deep dive for its condition and services.
Use your money wisely and stay away from any affiliation to this Resort. Spend your hard earned money eleswhere..! Completely horrifying accomodation and stay. Conclusion = believe the in the negative reviews. We did not and yes we paid the price! Horrendous vacation we ever had.

In the wake of Covid19,my wife and I decided to travel to the nearest holiday destination from our home. We had been to Avillion to attend our friend's beach wedding ceremony some years ago. Everything was fabulous, we enjoyed every bit of our time and left with sweet memories.

So what we thought would be a perfect place for short weekend stay turn out to be a horror of experience; the Avillion we experienced once was no where to be found. As quoted by William Wilberforce '"You may choose to look the other way but you can never say again that you don't know".Thence, being in the legal profession, we feel obliged and responsible to highlight our distasteful stay here at Avillion, for the sake of future holiday makers.Let me share.

The check-in /registration at arrival took ages. We waited for a solid 15mins on the line, no greetings or smile/during check-in; too far for an apology. Our chalet were not ready so we waited for more than an hour. Again, staff was least bothered to practise any form of customer service. We made our way to the chalet, no potter offered any help with bags. In the chalets, fused bedside light, stained pillow case, dirty balcony with pigeon droppings/nesting, nails jutting out off the rotten planks, dirty shower area, loose shower head, grotty furniture, poor TV reception, bath towels were worn, threadbare and grey and the list goes on. Mini freezer malfunction. Room had NO HOT WATER! Shower was luke warm at best! In short the chalet was falling apart, housekeeping and general maintenance of the chalet was in a mess.

The garden and walkways were dirty, overflowing rubbish bins along the chalets boardwalk, this was left to be seen over night and not cleaned till next morning. We could find trashes at every parts of the Resort. To top it up the adult pool was extremely dirty, some parts of the walls and base were slimy with black moss. All the above was a clear indication that the resort's cleanliness was least important to the management, rather negligible.

Food options was limited and service during breakfast was utterly nil. We had to call for our table plates clearing couple of times, getting the waiters were a hit or miss.

Our one night stay was enough for us to conclude that the leadership here is definitely in a critical state! Mind you the issues mentioned here can be rectified only if a proper management is in placed, there is need for any major renovation or what so ever.
Frankly, being my first posting, I wanted to write a review to debunk the bad ones that I have read but I can't.We tried to give this place the benefit of the doubt in spite of the poor reviews however in this case, the reviews were all TRUE.This Resort is not going to stay in business any long if they don't get their acts together to have their 'house' fixed/cleaned! All in all, we promised to ourselves to never return, even for a free stay!

From the Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Maintenance and also Recreation, we have undoubtedly failed. The services which was rendered is definitely not what we want to portray here in Avillion. My sincere apologies! We have recently embarked on the refurbishment of the property starting with all the walkway wooded platforms. There are now rooms being done as showrooms before we moved into full refurb of all the Resort Rooms. You will definitely see the changes in the next 6 to 12 months into the year. Coupled with back to basic training and development for all our employees including the Management Team. This will surely make an impression to everyone staying here in Avillion, on customer service and impactful rooms. I do hope we can welcome you back again to our resort once everything is in order. Hi Karina, I stayed both. If you asked for couple, then Lexis Hibiscus is the best choice for you. I like to stay at Lexis Hibiscus, they have private dip pool and sauna, which is awesome. Avillion is more to family friendly, their food are great, they have private access to beach. But both interior inside the room are very comfy. Although Avillion looks old, but their room is still in very good condition.

Pool opens 24 hours. As for the gym it opens from early morning until night (not sure of the time slot probably from 6.30am until 10.30pm). Steam bath and sauna is opened several hours (3 to 4 hours) a day only from 3pm onwards.
