We stayed two nights, three of us sharing one room (a couple and a friend). Although a little cramped in the room we slept well. There is A/C and mosquito nets over the beds. There is enough room on the general balcony and in the reception lounge to be able to read or follow up on emails etc - you are not restricted to your room. The owner made us feel at home, spoke very good English and could store some food & drink items for us in the fridge in his kitchen, there was no fridge in the room.
We very much enjoyed the dinner served there - good value for money, together with a cold beer. The breakfasts were also very good with choice of Sri Lankan or Western. The owner was very helpful with advice of the area and could arrange things if needed. All good value for money.

We spent one night there to visit Anuradhapura and the hotel have all the minimum standards to make you feel comfortable: it was very clean, comfortable bed, nice service and attention and A/C in the room (although it was a little noisy).

You can have dinner there which is good especially if you are arriving quite late to this city where you don't have many options. The food was average, it was cheap though. We spent Sinhala new year's Day there and they served tradicional breakfast which is nice to have.

They don't allow credit card payment which is many times welcome.

We arrived by train from Colombo and took a tuk tuk the short distance to the guesthouse. We received a very warm welcome and drink from our host Senpathi and he took some time to tell us how best to visit the sites of Anuradhapura. We opted for a tuk tuk tour of the many ancient sites and then an afternoon trip to the sacred hill of Mihintale which he organised.
The room was small but had a large comfortable bed with mosquito nets and a shower room with lots of hot water - everything is new (only a year old) very modern and clean. The WiFi was good throughout the guesthouse and we had all our laundry done.
The breakfast was excellent with fresh fruit from his garden and we opted both evenings for Sri Lankan dinner, cooked by his wife, which was wonderful. We had asked for a lassi which he did not do but the next day he went and found some curd and then for breakfast he made us the first Amsterdam Papaya Lassi.
Nothing was too much for him and his staff to do and we throughly enjoyed our stay there and felt we got the very best out of our visit to Anuradhapura.

Brand new place. The owner designed it himself. A well traveled man with a knowledge of what tourists want. Spotless rooms, modern bathroom (the only shower curtain I came across in Sri Lanka) with hot water. The common room had high timber ceilings with stone floor. Breakfast on the roof terrace was nice. Not really a view to anything though. Excellent wifi too.
