It's within the city limits but you don't feel alike there.live scenery of paddy below your living space will relax you like anything!
Spacious room with well designed open to air bathroom makes your stay comfy.
Secred city is within few kms and you can plan your visit to there easily.
My husband and I stayed 3 nights on our honeymoon. The room was large and comfortable, nice pool and decent breakfast, but it is a bit let down by being located slightly out of town and having a somewhat overpriced menu. The view over the fields is nice enough, unfortunately you can also see and hear the busy road past those fields. It looked like they hadn't quite finished developing the grounds.
We checked in around 6pm and were told that most the staff had left and that we had to be down at dinner by 8:30 and the only thing on the menu that was available was chicken or fish curry. The WiFi was terribly slow. Bird poop on the sheets and next to the sink. Room was not serviced at all. There was no hot water on the first night.
The rooms are lovely and the staff is nice enough but there’s obviously some issue with management. It’s a shame.
In general a very good hotel with spatious rooms, a nice pool, tasteful food and friendly personnel.
Hygiene was adequate, though not perfect. But seeing the price of the hotel, it certainly lived up to the expected standard. My wife has a very high standard as it comes to hygiene and she found no issues in the room state.
Only real downside is the location, which is close to a large road. This causes a lot of noise from traffic when you are in the outdoors area (indoors is very will insulated). We only spent 2 days here, with almost no time at the hotel (we did a lot of sightseeing to cultural sites which are close to the hotel), so for us it was not really an issue.
The rooms were big and clean. The bathrooms were nicely designed. We found the staff extremely friendly and helpful.
The rooms face a highway. There's a lovely rice paddy right outside the rooms but just past them is a noisy highway that significantly detracted from the otherwise great view. You can't hear the highway noise from inside the rooms but noticeable if you're sitting on the otherwise beautiful verandahs that each room has.
Despite the view of the highway from the rooms, it was still a nice base from which to explore Anuradhapura.
