Write a reviewReally there's nothing wrong with it, it's just one of those generic cookie cutter hotels. Well it's out of the way, the mall downstairs is empty. The lifts to get up to the hotel were often crowded with a long wait (it was christmas time). Breakfast was the usual crowded thing in these big hotels. My partner wanted somewhere with a pool so I thought we'd try that end of town. I prefer smaller hotels with character.
On the positive side, if you like these kind of hotels, the service was professional, the pool good/clean, the breakfast was a huge range, the building and rooms were modern and in good condition.

Make many trips to malacca but this is the best stay that I ever had!
1. Room is nice, tidy, clean. Felt comfortable to stay and sleep. The air conditioner is functioning well. Bed and pillow are just soooo comfortable! The rooms is big enough for me!
2. Request for a high floor and the view is perfect. Even though is not a sea view.
3. Washroom is being clean up well, all those hotel amenities is provided.
4. Operator is polite and patience in handling guest enquiry.
5. Thumbs up for concierges or bell attendant standing in front of the lift, he welcome and greet every guest that come to the hotel! Forgot to ask for his name.
6. Swimming pool is a good point also! Just too cold...
The only thing is maybe the front desk staff can be more warmly on welcoming the guest , smile more!
Morning breakfast is consider nice as there’s a lot of choice, Chinese, western, Malays, locals , many options to choose! Such as Porridge, buns, eggs, mee, and Nasi lemak- A Malaysian loved breakfast !
There’s an element mall near the hotel, 7-11 at outside the hotel. Just take the lift and go to ground floor, you can buy some supper stuff at 7-11!
Will definitely come back to this hotel for next visit!

A 5 star hotel that doesn't cost a bomb. There's also a sauna and stim room, but the pool is little too cold. There are shops below the hotel so it is so convenient. Getting our room was quite late but in the end they upgraded our room so that's alright then.

1.Hotel room:
Small & no place to walk
TV channels limited
Air-conditioner is old & faulty, still feeling hot despite turning on to the highest setting
Bedsheet has blackish stains that looks disgusting
2. Bathroom:
Shower gel not provided, wrongly gave 2 shampoo instead
Toothbrush & toothpaste not provided, only available upon request
Bathroom curtain is infested with mold & fungus
Only 2 towels provided
3. Breakfast buffet
Low quality foods, not up to 5-star standard
Some worse than a 3-star hotel's foods
Wait for long queue to get a seat
Cannot cope with the demand, need to put extra tables & chairs at the corridor outside of the restaurant
Food is always finished & not refilled
Waiters do not keep your used plates & bowls thus your table is crowded with dirty plates & bowls
4. Facilities
Swimming pool is crowded & has no control, people wearing full clothing into the pool and yet the signage shows swimsuit only
Gym is poorly maintained, no body is looking after it, some people even go into the gym barefooted after swimming
The hotel room rates are sky high but it is definitely not a 5-star hotel. Totally disappointed with the stay. I will never go back there.

Stayed here for new year eve. Impromptu. Swimming pool was good. Room carpet 1404 was quite unsanitized. There was unpleasant smell and should be cleaned. I ended up bringing my own anti bacterial spray sanitizer. It was also unacceptable that my second room had cockroaches and this showed how much of cleaning needs to be done.
Staffs, were very helpful and excellent. Staffs were alert and very approachable, greet customers and smiley. Very good.
The most biggest disappointment i really want to highlight here is the room service food. I have ordered the NZ steak and for RM 75 medium well quality of how the chef did his job.. taking into consideration 5* Hatten Place.. was really disappointing. I ordered the porridge and the gingers was way too much. Not much variety for the room service menu, and i went for breakfast seriously the mee goreng was really horrible. The smell was already unpleasant. I only have big disappointments about your food. Hatten Place really need to look on the quality of not just the presentation of food, but how its cooked and taste is most important. Please solve your cockroaches issues.
Otherwise because staffs was all very good and pool was good, i still give this 4*.
Please improve on your menu options to have like mac n cheese for the kids, and more.
