We started our ZA visit with three days at the Protea Hotel in Bellville. Not exactly a hot spot in the Cape Town area, but with acces to many of the peninsulas attractions within half an hour by car.

The rooms were of decent standard but what impressed us the most was the service given to us by the front desk.Excellent help with different arrangements, good advice. Even when we lost a car key on a beach they helped us arrange emergency transportation. Timely and with prices that were more than decent.
Sadly eneough - especially for the kids - the water scarcity in the region meant that the pool wasn't in use and showering times were limited according to the local rules.

Dear Staffan S, Thank you very much for the feedback received especially in regards to the splendid service you received from our Front Desk agents. I will share your feedback with them to ensure they continue the excellent level of service in the future. It is a pity that your children could not make use of our pool facility, but we need to do everything in our power to save as much water as possible at this stage. Thank you very much for your understanding in this matter. We hope to welcome you back soon. Have a wonderful day further. Jay-Ce Brooks Rooms Division Manager Jay-Ce.Brooks@proteahotels.com

A very clean and nice hotel. The breakfasts and pizzas are particularly nice. The staff are always friendly. It would have been better if the pool was a little bigger and if they'd had a gym. However, there are some nice walks close by.

Good Afternoon, Thank you so much for the VALUED feedback regarding your recent stay at the Protea Hotel Tyger Valley. I am so happy to hear that you were satisfied with the Restaurant STAFF along with the quality of the dining experience. Needless to say that your VALUED comments regarding the size of the Pool unfortunately will not be changing any time soon however I have communicated this to the relevant parties for future renovation plans. The thought of a Gym facility has been one for quite some time and we have brought this very suitable idea up with the Owners of the Property - there are fortunately other projects we are currently busy with (Refurbishment of all the standard Rooms and their bathrooms and double glazing of our High Way Rooms to avoid the noise factor). Once this is complete, ideas like the ones you have mentioned are always taken into consideration. Once again, Thank you for the VALUED feedback and we hope that your future travels bring you back to Welgemoed and the Property overlooking Table Mountain and the Valley of the Lights. Regards, Kristin Harrison Reservations Manager Kristin.harrison@proteahotels.com 021 913 2000

This hotel has wonderful views of the valley and Table Mountain. Unfortunately, it is located right next to the freeway (8 lanes) so it can get noisy. But, you get used to it and we slept well. Room was clean. Housekeeping great. Staff friendly. Pool was too cold in winter but I was able to lay out and get some sun. Breakfast buffet is overpriced.

Dear SequimWATraveler Thank you for posting a review about your experience at our hotel. Cape Town is a beautiful city and Protea Hotel Tyger Valley does have some of the most amazing views of the city. I am happy to hear you enjoyed these as well as the August sunshine. Thank you for the kind words about our friendly STAFF and housekeeping department, I will be sure to pass these on to our team. Our chefs put out an extensive breakfast buffet every morning and I am disappointed to hear you felt it was overpriced. Please feel free to contact me directly as I would really appreciate your feedback regarding the breakfast experience. Kind regards, Anso Venter General Manager Protea Hotel Tyger Valley
