I am sure the rate we paid was fair enough, $119 and that things would have been pricier further into Tucson. There were much cheaper rates online, but my husband had gone to front desk in person, not sure if he was given an AAA or senior rate.
We had driven past this area after stopping at Picacho Peak after driving from Phoenix enroute to
Tucson area. We had visited Tohono Chul gardens.
So I had taken note of all the hotels & told my
husband we should head back.
The front desk guy here was nice. The lobby was
very nice and clean.
Some sort of altar with coin offerings in the lobby.
Sorry to say, but want other travelers to know that
the contrast between main lobby and our room on the second floor was pretty significant.
Enough so, that when we got off the elevator, there was such a marked difference and we entered our
room, we almost turned around and left. A very noticeable contrast. Suddenly everything seemed dingy and dirty. Not sure if it was the lighting??
The room was really dark and dank. I turned on the
air to see if that would help. Everything just felt dirty. The carpet in particular. Dark in color, so impossible to know just how dirty it was. An already begun toilet
paper in the bathroom holder. One tissue left in the tissue holder.
Maybe the lobby has been remodeled and not the rooms? Definitely not the second floor.
Your standard hotel furnishings. A “partial coverlet”
(never know what these are called) or bed scarf that probably never gets washed. I never get the point of those. A greasy head imprint? on one of the
headboards. Let’s just say, the kind of place where you do not want to put your bags on the floor. The sheets were soft and a dirty color that made them
look like they needed a good bleaching.
We decided to stay since it was only one night.
I would give it a poor rating if it were not for the courteous staff. Included breakfast was nothing
Probably the last time I will choose Days Inn.
