This was the very WORST motel I have ever stayed in! There is No Air Conditioning! No ice machine! For goodness sake this was in California! There were roaches! Mildew and mold in the rooms and restroom! I could only stay there one night ! Never again. $60 room should have been free!!
We stayed here because many of the other chain motels closer to Hwy 101 were sold out. This is a very basic place, but has potential to be nicer with a bit of housekeeping. It is an older, single story motel, with charming brick front porches and flowers & parking in front of each unit. Our bathroom was clean and had a large tiled shower and pedestal sink. Room appeared to be set up for handicap access except for the two steps up to the front porch. The walls and crown moulding were freshly painted, and the carpet seemed clean. We slept comfortably on the king-size mattress. There was a flat-screened TV, mini-frig, microwave and free wi-fi in room.
Reasons for the low rating were: bedspread was older, stained & faded; shower curtain was moldy on lower edges; there was no coffee maker in room, and no coffee available in the office in the morning; there was no phone in the room, even to call front desk; and my personal favorites: a piece of already-chewed gum near microwave and someone else's thawed food in freezer of mini-frig. There was no air conditioning unit, and the wall heater probably did not work as there were a dirty portable fan and a portable heater in room. Outside, there was a blue tarp covering "stuff" and a trash-filled dumpster with no lid right next to our room. Former pool had been filled in with dirt and grass--maybe a nod to California's water shortage?? Rate was average for the area, with no discounts offered, because--in the desk clerk's words--it was cheap enough. Really???
Ahhhh! Stayed here in feb of 2015. My friend came out to California and we decided to do a road trip up the coast and "wing it" when it came to finding a hotel. It was around 11:00 at night and we rang the buzzard at their night window and a man in pajamas came out and said it would be $60 (plus tax) it was the going price for the area and we were exhausted so we agreed. We also read online that the hotel had laundry which we needed to do, (but decided after seeing the room to pass) the motel actually didn't look so bad from the outside at night, it has potential- good location, large rooms, and could be fixed up nicely and be very cute. However I would have been more comfortable sleeping in my car.
It was Extremely dirty. I mean I've stayed in my share of questionable hotel rooms but you could feel the dirt and uncleanliness from the moment you walked in. Upon further investigation there were stains on the blankets, bed appeared slept in, bathroom had dried toilet paper stuck to the floor of the shower, shower curtain was moldy. The smoke detector was detatched from the ceiling and was in one of the drawers, spiders and cobwebs on the walls, the water came out yellow... We slept on blankets from our car on top of the sheets And bundled up in sweatshirts and long socks for fear of being bitten by bugs. I highly recommend avoiding this place due to lack of cleanliness.
I cannot believe this even ranked #12! This motel is FILTH! There are drug addicts left and right and gross prostitutes going room to room. It is anything but safe! The rooms may look decent but they're not.
This hotel was good enough for the not picky traveler on a budget. The rooms are pretty large with a lot of storage space. There was a closet, dresser, and another large chest for storage. There was a mini-fridge, microwave, and phone in the room. The cleanliness of the room was okay, except the bathroom window could have been cleaned a bit more- probably just old. The service was very friendly. The hotel was quiet and we slept very well. It is a one story motel, and the layout is pretty neat.
