I stayed here in a twin room for one night. The room was clean and bed comfortable and firm. I was in room 5 which is the furthest back from the road (only 5 fooms at this small motel). The rooms are thick stone (very old building). A Small fridge, TV, table and chairs are provided along with tea and coffee facilities and shampoo/soap.

The bathroom is TINY but the shower had good water pressure although the hot water is not overly hot (hot enough though).

The Motel has a cafe, restaurant attached and they have a good selection of foods available and were surprisingly busy!

I think the motel was slightly over priced for this room ($135) for a twin but, good location and convenient. Certainly fine for one night.

The free Wifi was a bonus - remember to ask for the password at check in!

The only negative was that the bedding smelt of cigarette smoke, very noticable when you are a non-smoker. The motel do have signs up in the room so obviously this is an issue...

hello Kay P, thankyou for staying at our motel and taking the time to offer your important review, the motel is over 175 years old [first licensed in 1850!]so we are happy with the condition of the building thick walls and all. the new hot water units have anti scalding valves fitted as per government regulations, consequently the hot water is not really scalding hot! sorry. we take pride in our rooms and can't explain why the bedding smelt of cigarette smoke all the bedding is changed every day and we dont allow smoking in the rooms. regards the management

We were up in the Barossa for Day on the Green and needed a place to crash for the night. The Weighbridge was available and we couldn't have been happier. Wonderfully friendly hosts, a clean and quiet room and such an easy drive to the wineries. This is no 5-star hotel - it's much better. It's a genuine, family-run business that takes pride in what it does. Thanks.

Booked here via internet booking site because we could not find availability at a more central motel in the Barossa Valley as it was a weekend. Truro has this motel with 5 rooms, a B&B, a pub, very few shops and a servo on the main street and is about 10 minutes drive from Nuriootpa. On arrival we were pleased with the friendly reception, the size and cleanliness of the room and were very comfortable for the two nights we stayed. The room was great, air-con, TV, double bed and en-suite and undercover parking at the door. The road is busy (Stuart Highway) but we didn't notice it inside the room. Given notice, a hearty breakfast was available in the dining room. This was a excellent base away from the weekend melee of the Barossa Valley towns.

The Weighbridge Motel in Truro is a very pleasant place, from the moment you arrive in the office you can see and feel the homely touch and welcome atmosphere, the owners Sandra and Michael had everything organised even though the booking was made months in advance.
The modernised well-appointed accommodation rooms with on suites are part of the original Inn from the days when it was a coach house and are located on the side to the rear of the main building and the side rooms have two steps up to enter your room. The room had a very comfortable bed with fresh ironed clean pillow cases and sheets and in the on suite towels, face washer, hand towel, bath mat, soap and shampoo. On the table there is a bottle of water, tea and coffee making facilities but with the dining room just a few steps away a hot Coffee or Cappuccino while you have a look at the art work or observing the largest bull ants mounted on the wall.
When it is time to eat a delicious morning breakfast or and evening dinner is a very enjoyable experience. The motel has its own Restaurant and Bar with a variety of beverages and local wine if you so desire. The menu offers good wholesome country meals and are very reasonably priced that will conjure up those treasured memories of your grandmothers’ Sunday dinners, topped off with a delicious dessert of hot apple and rhubarb slice with fresh cream and ice-cream.
Parking and vehicle access is excellent with under cover parking outside the rooms and motion detectors that operate the external lighting at night if you have to get something from your vehicle or returning from an evening walk.
If you have been driving all day the Weighbridge Motel offer great meals hospitality and a good night’s rest, or if you are visiting to experience this beautiful area Truro is a great central point to explore the wine regions and experience the surrounding local towns and discover firsthand the history and harsh environment people faced when the area was first settled and industries developed.
Sandra and Michael have a life time of local knowledge and are very happy to share with you offering information and advice of where to go and what to see.
The Weighbridge Motel is very affordable and comfortable place to stay with spotlessly clean rooms and facilities that is owned and operated by extremely pleasant owners and located in a very beautiful and interesting part of the state.

We stayed here two nights as it was the nearest place we could find to the Barossa Valley due to it being a long weekend. At first glance it does not look much. There are only about 4 rooms and a couple of caravans on site. The room we were in was small but very clean and beautifully restored with high ceilings and new carpet. The shower/toilet is not large but clean and functional. The room has split system heating/cooling which was quiet and efficient. The bed was comfortable and the room had all the amenities you would want including free Wi-Fi. The biggest surprise was the restaurant on the premises. It is run by the owners and the meals are fabulous and home cooked. We ate there both nights. I would normally rate this place lower but the owners were so helpfull and friendly they deserve the extra mark. Truro is about 17 km out of the Barossa Valley so well within driving distance of that district.
