Travelling alone but meeting friends at the resort this hotel was ideal. It was all-inclusive so could pick and choose meals and drinks when convenient as well as going to the resort meeting friends.Meals were basic but plentiful and ideal for families watching a budget. Not so suitable for elderly as steep climb up stairs from the resort.,though taxis available.Try and get a room well away from the pool, which can be quite noisy during the day.
We traveled as a family and had a lovely time I would definitely recommend this hotel. We had rooms on the ground floor so never needed to use the lift, the maids were always around and did a really good job in keeping our rooms spotless.. along the hall way they left trolleys with toilet rolls towels etc that could have been needed when they had gone home, I thought this was a good idea.
The hotel itself was very clean and organised. The staff (apart from one) were always helpful and although didn't speak a lot of English were able to help in any situation.
I have to say the one thing that did spoil the trip as others have said was the young barmaid.... she was embarrassingly bad mannered rude and quite nasty to people, i could understand if people were drunk or nasty or being disrespectful to the hotel or other guests.... but no it was her way and it was not a nice way to be. I witnessed on several occasions her shouting at people (from many different countries) also swearing in front of children, just not a nice person. Being only one bar you could not avoid her. Well enough said. The pool guy wasnt very attentive either I told them someone had dropped a pizza down the stairs and some one was going to slip I asked if he had something to clean it with... he waved his hand at me..... 2 hours later still there so i cleaned it up myself...
The rest of the staff from Boris the taxi man to the lovely receptionist were all really good no matter what country you came from.
This is a very mixed hotel with people coming from many different countries, it was amazing to see all the children play happily together even though they couldnt speak the same language. This is a good family hotel at at 10pm the drink stop and the hotel is lovely and quite. Its definitely not a party hotel but the entertainment we had a few nights a week was really good, they have a man playing an organ and singing its so nice and relaxing.
The beach also is very nice it is quite a hike... we took our 85 year old dad who managed the walk every day took his time and it was ok, maybe depends on your level of fitness, i dont think for anyone who needs help getting around it would be suitable.
We walked down to the main beach to golden sands, phew it was loud and a real party atmosphere if thats what you wanted, too much for us we couldnt wait to get back to the quite of Kinni Park. The walk there and back again is steep and hard uneven ground so again not for those needing assistance, taxis are always available.
The pool was nice but if im honest around the sides were very dirty. you could always get a sun lounger, mats and towels are available as well.
The food was really good and varied.. breakfast was always the same..never any bacon or fried eggs, but always lots of meats cheeses and breads, lovely coffee too. Lunch was soups breads pasta dishes fish /chicken and always a lovely selection of deserts. drinks were available to help yourself wine/beer in barrels or sorft drinks.
Every afternoon they brought out ice creams and cakes and pastry's.
Evening meals had some great choices i think it was luck of the draw to what time you went... always chips, chicken kiev's pasta etc children's family food never saw any chops or steaks. always good desserts though.
I would recommend this hotel for families with children for a chilled family holiday.
The hotel was kept clean by the hardworking cleaners and dining staff. However the young female serving at the bar was at times very rude despite regular tipping. There is no lift in the hotel and you have to take some steps or a death trap of a ramp to and from the road leading to Golden Sands. We had a young child with us who needed his pushchair and this hotel is certainly not equipped for young children or people requiring aids. The hotel is not used much by the British and at times was made to feel intimidated by some of the other holiday makers. I couldn’t relax as my children were being scrutinised each time they used the pool. The hotel is advertised as family friendly but we certainly didn’t think so We ended up paying to use another hotels facilities. Food was ok you get what you pay for in this regard. All inclusive drinks include lager, wine, and limited spirits. I made the mistake of asking to have a different drink and was prepared to pay but the fuss the barmaid caused was unreal and directed her frustration at me and blamed me for the queue, that had formed. on the plus side the barman from Istanbul was friendly and polite. BE AWARE the laundry service is an absolute rip off we were charged 110 Lev for a laundry service mainly toddler clothing. I guess I should of researched the pricing before hand. Golden Sands is a great place and I would go back but will be looking for a hotel that can meet our needs next time.
The hotel and rooms were spotless but only one other English family there. So difficult for the kids to make friends. Staff were very rude bar the maid (as we tipped her every other day). No indoor pool, swim up pool and no kids entertainment as advertised. Only entertainment was every 5 or so days so we saw one dance act. No free mini bar as advertised, we had to pay to stock it up. In the middle of no where so trips were very expensive as had to catch a taxi everywhere. Long steep walk back from the beach so I couldn't go. Food was awful and we lived on crisps. Not much choice unless you like salad. Will not be going back to this hotel.
Hotel itself is alright in nice surroundings. But standard of people working there below poor. Practically nobody except manager speaks any English. Also I never met person who was more rude than so called lifeguard. He told my baby girl she cannot jump to the pool (mind there is NO sign forbidding that) while his adult friends were jumping to the pool splashing water allover everybody around. To add to this he was pushing his female friends to the water himself. Not only it was unprofessional (seems like he was there for fun not for work) but also it clearly shows that the same rules does not apply to everybody. When i confronted him he did not speak any English and I had to take it with manager who was very apologetic. Also bar staff weren't very helpful and they were constantly mistaken drinks. After pool incident they were clearly slagging me off with the lifeguard. Why didn't you do it to my face? Food and drink choice very poor and frankly not tasty at all. There was one family from Netherlands who was booked for 2 weeks and left after 2 days. It does show you the standard of the hotel doesn't it? I will not be coming back and I will not recommend it to anyone.
