We decided to simply park our trailer here and do day trips around the province in the three weeks we stayed in PEI. A wise decision. This is much more back to nature than most private campgrounds, with lots of trees and spacious sites. The area near the office is for larger RVs, and our 20 foot trailer was somewhat dwarfed. You face the neighbour's door, and do not have to look at the neighbours utilities, which is a good thing. The pool is solar heated, and therefore is not terribly warm but is clean and a good midday spot.
Our trailer has only a very limited shower, and we needed to drive to the comfort station up the hill to shower. Showers are older and in some updating -- and the shower curtains are in sad shape.
If you are looking for all the bells and whistles, go elsewhere. But if you are looking for a home, this is a fine place.
Wifi is excellent for a campground!
We stayed for 4 nights. Friendly staff *owners are GREAT*, clean grounds, large sites ... we were in a 2-way serviced site not too far from the washrooms. A deceptively challenging mini golf course is on the grounds ( I kicked hubby's butt ). The campground is central to many day-trip points on the island. Fantastic rec hall with loaner library, pool table, foosball, very comfie furniture, and a kitchenette. Beautiful sunsets can be viewed from the private beach across the street from the campground. (the beach is not suitable for swimming). WiFi worked great. Yes, the washrooms may be a bit dated, but were always clean, and the showers are free ... one complaint: hand dryer in ladies room was out of order our entire stay - paper towels would have been appreciated. There are a lot of rules (which makes the check-in procedure a wee bit lengthy), but the rules are all common-sense rules and make for an enjoyable experience for everyone. Personally, we stayed there BECAUSE of the warped humor on their website. :-D This was our first stay at Cymbria, and it will not be our last.
We just came back from a 9 night stay at Cymbria from Ontario and I can honestly say it was one of the best camping experiences we have had. The campground was very clean and the campsites were very spacious and well maintained. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the pool and park were a hit with my kids. The location was very central to all the places we wanted to visit and the campground was very quiet and relaxing. We cannot wait to go back.
We stayed here 3 nights in tents. The lots are big, grassy and somewhat private. The facilities are rustic but well maintained and clean. It was quiet which was one of our top priorities. The location was perfect. It is about 15 minutes from Cavendish. It is quite central in PEI, so easy to go either East or West. There is a nice pool and a games room.
Cymbria is our go-to campground for visiting PEI. The park is located in Rustico, close to Cavendish without the noise and traffic. We travel with a 5th wheel and the sites are lovely and big, with a common area (grassed) up the middle of the trailer area so you are not rubbing backsides with your neighbors. The tent sites are beautiful with flat ground and well treed for shade and protection. There is laundry, a pool and a small washroom and shower which is always clean. The owners are very accommodating and friendly. Highly recommend this park.
