Short break away for two nights but even given the fact it is out of season the offered rate was extremely good value. Tough to find anywhere South of Manchester a hotel at under £50 a night.
The reservation website did say the hotel offered parking although I would stress at oak times of the year the car park would be overrun as there is probably space at a pinch for six large cars. Parking in Hunstanton is pricey but that is likely the fault of the council.
Was in Room 1 at the side of the hotel. Spacious and comfortable. Decor does look a little dated but very comfortable bed. Tea/ Coffee provided in copious quantities. Shower recently refurbished and temperature and power excellent. Really good room, especially for that price.
Probably the key differentiator was the staff who seemed to all have been there for some time (which tells arguably its own story) downstairs restaurant serves breakfast and evening bar meals. Breakfast was excellent albeit not included in the room but with the room rate so low this is not really a criticism. Upstairs restaurant probably more formal and appeared to be out of service probably due to atone of year but evening meals very good on both occasions. Reasonable value and a comprehensive, if traditional menu.
Location in the middle of town very good and easy access to beach and shops/ high street. Would definitely recommend, especially if visiting outside peak tourist season.
First time here and really enjoyed it the room was very nice really clean. The staff were very friendly and the food was nice. The hotel is just a 2 minute walk to the beach, lots of shops all about and the princess theatre is right across the road
Check in was great the manager showed us to our room which was excellent we had a sea view room and the price was a gift the cheapest you will find on the coast anywhere everyone was friendly the bar area was good and everywhere was dog friendly will definitely be going back a big thank you george and Cheryl and not forgetting Buddy
On arrival the car park was full with approx 6 cars in it. The car park is tiny and was full for my entire visit. I had to park elsewhere and if I had known this then I wouldn't have booked to stay here.
Checking in was a bit odd. You have to follow signs to a steep staircase to go down in to the bar where you check in. The staff were very friendly and welcoming.
My room was on the 2nd floor so back up the horrible bar stairs and then up another two flights of stairs.
The room was a really good size. I had a double at the front of the hotel and could see the sea. The en-suite was absolutely lovely. A really excellent shower and lots of nice toiletries provided. The shower could do with a little shelf though as there is no where to put anything whilst you are in the shower.
The bed was very comfortable and the room had lovely thick curtains so was really dark.
I went in to the bar in the evening for a drink and it was packed. This is obviously a popular place for the locals. Everyone was very friendly though. I would stay again if the parking was better. The hotel is across the road from the bus station which is ideal if you don't drive. It's also a two minute walk to the beach.
Great location very near the beach, tiny car park. Very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms and en-suite bathroom were both a good size (nice large walk in powerful shower), clean and comfortable. Breakfast on the outside terrace in the morning was good, wide menu choice and the evening meals were classic pub grub, served very quickly even when busy but it’s a relatively small hot seating area inside, so more one for its large outside seating when the weather allows.
