I finally was able to visit family in Orangeburg, after previously cancelling a trip due to Covid19 in March. This hotel was close to where we were going. It's a marriot, so I expected it to be nice and clean and IT WAS! Marriott never disappoints.

This hotel was easy to find. We had a beautiful room with a truly comfy bed. The bathroom and shower were huge and it truly took care of our needs. I am a very picky coffee drinker and even the coffee was above and beyond.

Breakfast was self serve take out due to Covid. But the choices were plentiful and delicious.

Thanks for a safe, clean and amazing stay! I will stay here again in the future on visits.

Good lemon poppyseed cake and good muffins. Hot oatmeal yogurt. Breakfast was better than a lot of other hotels we have eaten at Not sure if $100 is worth it. But average in area

One thing I like about Fairfield -- they're consistent. Perhaps they're not the finest hotels, but they're clean, affordable, and you know what you're getting. (Contrast that, for example, with the old Holiday Inn brand -- not the new Holiday Inn Express. Holiday Inns are all over the place, from very nice to barely tolerable.)

There is a range of Fairfield experiences, but it is a narrow range. So when a property is outside of the norm, you notice. The Fairfield Orangeburg is well below what I expect from a Fairfield. The room was in need of a refresh -- chips out of the tub, warps in the ceiling. The elevator was cantankerous -- closing and opening the door repeatedly before finally closing. The room had the old-style in-room unit, and it performed only occasionally and noisily. This isn't Marriots' fault, but I-26 is RIGHT next door and the road noise is constant and unpleasant. (As for a high numbered room -- we were in 302, the last room before the Interstate.)

Sorry, folks. Comparing this property with the Hampton Inn at the same exit left me wishing I'd sprung for the extra $20 or $30 it cost to stay there. I have stayed at the Hampton inn before (see my TripAdvisor review from 2016) and thought I'd save a few bucks this time. After all, Fairfields are consistent, right?

Nope, not this time. I'll pick the Hampton over the Fairfield at Orangeburg every time.

Please allow me to apologize on behalf of our entire team here at the Fairfield Inn Orangeburg for failing to meet your expectations. I would also like to thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback regarding our property. I would also like to mention that our property is 21 years old and yes it is showing it's age, however I would also like to add that we are in the beginning phases of a 21 year PIP/Renovation. We are very exciting for the upcoming changes and updates to be a more consistent Fairifeld. We hope that in the future, you would reconsider and give us a shot to redeem ourselves following renovations. Although we can't control the placement of the property or the noise level from the interstate, we can offer solutions in other ways to make for a more enjoyable stay with us. Thank you for the feedback regarding the elevator as well, as this has not been reported previously. We recently had our state elevator inspection and everything is up to par. Our room was comfortable and it appeared parts were updated and other areas were not.
This is a smaller Marriott property in a smaller city. There didn’t seem to much around the immediate area as I searched for a few grocery items. The area seems a bit downtrodden, with not much in the way of restaurants, except less than a handful of chains, nor any shopping.
The staff were very friendly, the breakfast was as basic as a Fairfield gets. Fresh though, just small and basic.
A 4 rating may be generous but there were no reasons to dislike this place.

This was the worst Marriott property we have stayed at. As an Elite member it was no where near the standard it should have been. The room was not clean. Still has a wall AC unit very loud and had to turn below 70 to even get the air to work.
