We saw a cheap rate and you get what you pay for. Room smelled musty, stale and dirty. The pet fee was very reasonable and I see why... there is no way they follow choice hotel's pet policy and clean the carpets after each pet. Our dog couldn't stop smelling the floor. I came in to see a sign that said "be back in 10 minutes." The night attendant was sitting on the counter. We both woke up with our backs hurting from the very firm bed. It was noisy beginning at 5:30 on a Sunday morning. No I wouldn't stay there again!
King suite had two TV's neither worked. Brought to attention of night clerk who said the TV's were all old and analog, but new TV's were on order. Also a problem with the signal was not the responsibility of the motel, but a problem of the cable provider. Night clerk said he had also had 5 similar complaints this evening, but did not mention this at check in. Decided to move to another motel across the street and requested a full refund which was initially refused. After making us wait while he called the cable company and remained on hold for an extended period, rudely granted a refund with out an apology. Worse public relations experience every..Motel is old and poorly appointed and managed even worse.
We stopped here on our way to Florida. The front desk staff was very pleasant to us. Our room was 2 queen beds & well kept. The beds were comfortable. Plenty of towels & wash clothes for a family of 4. The breakfast was ok. Its the typical hotel free breakfast with waffles, eggs, biscuits/gravy etc. There were plenty of choices to fit everyone. (Unsure about gluten free options). They did have yogurt & fresh fruit. We would definitely stay here again.
I was not told I would be in a handicapped room. The room was 1/2 the size of a normal room. The bathroom was terribly designed for a handicapped person and totally unacceptable for non handicapped. The sink in the bathroom had no space around it for anything. the handle for the water was loose and turned sideways and it took 2 hands to get it on/off. There was a roll in shower with no raised area to prevent water from going into the bathroom. It flooded. The drain was super slow and the water just kept building up. I think it had been a problem because the clerk gave me extra floor towels to use. Did I mention it was super small. I'm not sure if a wheelchair could get inside and close the door. If it did, the door, which caught on the bottom and was difficult to shut, would be blocked. Breakfast was the usual fare. However, instead of coffeemaker coffee they had some kind of instant coffee machine which made awful coffee. I won't be staying here again.
This hotel is in a good location, a couple of exits from Cool Springs Galleria and more restaurants than you can count. There is also a Cracker Barrel about a minute's walk away but if other options are available, I do not recommend this hotel. I stay in Comfort Suites properties on a fairly regular basis but this hotel just wasn't quite up to snuff. I realize it's a Comfort Inn, not a Suites, but I didn't enjoy my stay. The desk clerks were not as friendly as I would expect and the rooms were rather noisy. The beds were comfortable, the TV worked and there were no real problems; there just wasn't anything to scream out "STAY HERE AGAIN". If you need a room in this area, find one at the Cool Springs exits, close to Mallory Lane or Carothers Blvd. Skip this one unless nothing else is available.
