Firstly I’d like to say thank you so much to the owners of Cottage 11 for our wonderful accommodation during our recent holiday here.

We stayed at cottage 11 Court Barton Cottages during a recent family holiday (6th to 13th Sept 19) and had a really lovely holiday indeed. On arrival there was a lovely little goody bag for us with Jam and biscuits and tea, and a gorgeous little welcome box for our little spaniel Nova which was a perfect little extra touch. This had treats and food and a little collapsible water bowl!

The accommodation itself is lovely. The family spaces are very open and airy and spacious. There is a very modern kitchen with all the amenities you could want including a dishwasher and a washing machine and full sized fridge. The bedrooms are nicely decorated and very spacious. We had 5 adults staying so pushed the twin beds together in the front bedroom making plenty of room for us to all have our own spaces. There are also some bunk beds in the front room that my nieces made into a den when they visited. There is a very nice en-suite to the master bedroom and a massive family bathroom, both of which have walk in rainfall showers.

There is a lovely balcony terrace off the living room which was lovely to enjoy a glass of wine in the evening overlooking a little courtyard.

Overall I think we all agreed that the very best thing about the cottage was the direct access we had to the indoor pool situated directly below the cottage which we used twice a day for our entire stay! It’s just down the stairs through a door off the kitchen which is really handy!

If you go out of the cottage and walk to your left there is a little croquet lawn next to the dog walking field (which Nova enjoyed greatly!) from which you can see the sea at south Milton sands and a lovely sunset!

It’s a very nice 30 minute downhill walk to South Milton sands so would definitely recommend a stroll down to this lovely beach when staying here! The only thing that some of us struggled with was the little tiny lanes that you have to drive to get here, which is absolutely not the fault of anyone at Court Barton and to be expected for South Devon! The more confident drivers in our party had no problem with this, just a tip to be aware of if you’re coming to stay, to be prepared for very narrow lanes for the latter part of your journey!

We really enjoyed our stay immensely and we will certainly be back soon! Thanks again cottage 11!

Third year back for us in this glorious cottage and I felt compelled to write a review!
Everything about number 8 is welcoming and homely. It’s becoming our home from home and within 5 minutes of arriving the kids were running around to see which of their pals from previous years were about!
The house is contemporary but very homely. Everything you could ever think of (including those oh so handy heated towel rails!) make is so easy to make yourself at home.
6 of us have stayed here very comfortably with our couple friends having the whole floor at the top of the house to themselves in a beautiful double with en suite. The more rowdy side of the family stay on the first floor with impossibly comfortable beds and everything you would ever need for a family with two young boys.
The views are what makes this place astounding. Watching the sunset over the sea from the sofa in the lounge with a glass of wine in hand is truly something special.
The outside area is perfect for an impromptu game of football or cricket with the neighbours and we all enjoyed the great facilities Court Barton has to offer.
Literally my only complaint about the whole holiday has to be the narrowness of the Devon roads!!

What a truly wonderful place to stay with a magical view and super stylish interiors. We have had the most lovely winter trip here with our family with memories made all in a beautiful setting.

Every aspect has been considered with comfy beds and gorgeous bathrooms - all toasty warm. The best bit is the large open space kitchen, diner and sitting room made all the more cosy by the superb log burner - with a view all the way down to the sea.

So much to do in the area and well worth a visit. Perfect for kids in and out of season. Would highly recommend. A hidden gem in the heart of the rural South Hams. Can’t wait to come again.

We enjoyed the practical layout of cottage 8, the thick carpets and the new bathrooms with super hot towel rails. The beds would be best appreciated by those who like a very firm surface. Lighter sleepers would be best suited to the first floor bedrooms where the 5am roof-dancing jackdaws, and rattling window in high winds (seal in the double glazing is also broken so the "outstanding view" is of condensation), are out of earshot. The full size fridge and freezer were handy and the kitchen was well stocked. It was a shame about the dirty BBQs, and the microwave being stored on a high shelf in the bedroom wardrobe. If it's due to be cold note that the only heating in the living area is a log burner and there's no guard (bedrooms have powerful radiators). The lovely, very warm indoor pool was much appreciated and ideal for young kids.

Sadly for us the week was spoiled by the nauseating damp smell throughout. In the bedrooms, the upper ones at least, we were choking on the the smell and it permeated everything we had with us. The kitchen cupboards were largely unusable due to the overwhelming smell.

We stayed at cottage no 4 last year and this year is was number 2. The view was just as spectacular and the cottage itself was of a better standard in terms of decor and garden space as it was dual aspect. I think the only downside was that the main bedroom didn’t have a door (kind of open upstairs / mezzanine) which meant early morning noise couldn’t be shut out if you wanted a lie in. That said it was large comfy room and head a good ensuite. The bed was very comfy. The whole house v clean, well kept and good standard. Most things available in the house e.g. towels, soap, dishwasher powder, washing powder and J clothes.

A new patio had been laid and was looking good but we didn’t get chance to use that much due to weather.

The family enjoyed the indoor pool, the outside was not yet open. We also used the tennis court which was great.

The only minor frustration was the parking, although supposedly allocated, we never got to park in the section where our cottages were supposed to be as some cottages seemed to have more than one car and then left them there all week. That said there was parking just a bit further along- just a bit annoying as other people’s parking and selfishness meant we didn’t get what was advertised.
