A very pleasant stay in beautiful surroundings. Room was comfortable and warm. Only complaint would be the very loud ticking of the wall clock which had the same effect as a dripping tap. Necessitated the removal of the battery. Problem solved. Good proximity to everything the Dandenong Ranges and it’s gorgeous villages has to offer. I would stay there again.
I stayed here with my boyfriend the weekend of Valentine’s Day, we were not impressed. Being dog friendly we were rapped to be taking the dog. It also stated that a continental breakfast was included.
On the way we were messaged saying that there would be no one to check us in and we were to get the key and let ourselves in. It Was a tiny little space and The floors were extremely slippery for the dog and also us. Not very dog friendly as we were not even able to leave him while we went out for dinner. We had plans the next day we also had to cancel. The continental breakfast was terrible, all of the cerial in the room was stale and we had to ask for bread, which was bought to us from the freezer and had been previously opened.
Overall i think for the price it was completely not worth it. I would not recommend
A lovely room, straight from the Cotswolds. The bed was comfortable, hot water in abundance, room set for breakfast and all was provided.
Its somewhat hard to find however with Google not a problem.
We had dinner at the nearby (4 km) Pig and Whistle Pub which I am not sure if I would recommend Have written a separate report.
We would definitely return to Holly Lodge - oh and nice folk that own it also.
We had a wonderful two night stay. We were a family group of six adults, one couple with three young children. Our separate suites/cottages were in close proximity to one another so we had our privacy but congregated in the biggest suite when we all wanted to be together. Steve was very helpful and accommodating. The surroundings were beautiful and peaceful - the greenery was breathtaking. Everything close by.
One of the best B&B's we have stayed in, and there have been many! Honey moon suite was large, delightful 4 poster bed with a deep mattress, and a beautiful view out over Melbourne with a delightful garden in front. Secluded, with no noise other than the abundant birds and parrots. Best of all, our dog was welcome. We would stay there with or with out our dog it was that good. Only negative was the shower was small, but a large spa bath made up for that. The owner is friendly and helpful.
