Great room as it is a brand new hotel. Great bedding and very Clean. Stayed there and took in a Mavs game at the AAC so its a convenient location two blocks away. The parking garage is poorly marked with all the signage not haveing any reference for hotel guests. The signs are for "Residents" and not hotel guests. Parking is very confusing when you get there. NO Valet, No one to help with luggage, and no front desk.
Great price for a one night on a Monday.
My husband and I are staying here this weekend for a quick getaway. The Guild has lots of potential but their business model does not work for the discerning traveler. First the pros: great location was great, the unit was very clean, and the kitchen was well stocked with dishes and pots/pans. I loved having a full kitchen with an oven. Also, the coffee they provided was delicious. Now for the cons: check in and parking can be confusing, but once you figure it out, it’s fine. My biggest complaint is that the unit doesn’t seem to be maintained very well. We had several small issues that were a nuisance to us during our visit. The patio blinds didn’t have a wand so you couldn’t open them. The dryer didn’t work. Unfortunately, we figured this out after I had washed all of our towels. Since there isn’t anyone onsite, nothing could be done. Also, the lock was broken so you couldn’t lock the patio door, luckily we were on the 4th floor so it wasn’t a safety concern. Also, the fridge ice maker didn’t make ice. These are minor things but not something I am use to dealing with in a typical hotel. I thought I had booked a 1-bedroom, but I must have booked the studio. It is important to know that if you book a studio, there is no sofa in the unit. There are 4 chairs and a coffee table. This wasn’t very comfortable seating for us. I think if you are only planning to drop your bags and enjoy the city, this is a perfect place. However, if you enjoy lounging and relaxing in your room, I would stay somewhere else. I will say that whenever I texted them they were very responsive. I advised them of the issues in the room and they said they were working on them so maybe these issues will be taken care of for the next guest.
I was a bit unsure about this new business model. I had to download the app, take a picture of my face and driver's license to even be considered for a rental, text that to the app, and after that, it was all done by text.
Nervous? Don't be, it is awesome.
The hotel/apartment complex is in Victory Park, literally a 3 minute walk from the American Airlines Center where I watched a Dallas Stars game. 4 minute walk from the DART Victory Station that goes straight to DFW for $3 and 40 minutes.
Check-in was easy. They texted me a few hours before arrival. My room was not quite ready, but they took my bag and I came back a bit later. The "room" was basically a luxury apartment with a balcony, and a high-end kitchen with all the necessary stuff that you would need if you wanted to live there. Pots, pans, dishes, high-quality knives, a coffee pot with good quality ground coffee, a dishwasher, and a washer and dryer with 6 high efficiency laundry pods.
There is a workout center and a pool with codes to get in.
It is on the south end of the "Katy Trail", which goes 3.5 miles north to SMU through some nice neighborhoods and parks, for biking, walking, running, roller-blading.
Service was amazing. My dryer was broken and the clothes were wet. I sent a text, their guy showed up 10 minutes later, and they dried my laundry while I watched the Dallas Stars hockey game, and they hung my clean laundry up in the closet while I was gone.
This was so nice. We stayed the night after going to a concert at the American Airlines Center. It was down the block. The bed was comfortable and I watched the crazy traffic leaving the center from the balcony. The room also had a full kitchen. I would have liked to stay longer!
I absolutely had a great stay at The Guild. Plenty of space and wonderful balcony was a nice bonus. We had the one bedroom and it was great for my husband and I. If we had brought our toddler along it would have been great for him too as they had a pack n play in the closet and the division of sleeping space and living space is great for traveling as a family. Fantastic location, very walk-able. Had a great view of the American Airlines Arena. The only downfall is that it is quite noisy, however they supply ear plugs so that is a nice solution. They also had a record player which was quite fun. All around I would recommend this location and will be keeping an eye out for another Guild location for our next trips!
