Great place to stay for the price, and was walking distance to the beach. Since we had an early morning fishing expedition, we could not try out the breakfast, Received a great recommendation from the staff on a place to eat, Everything was clean and in its place--what I would expect. The only reason I gave it a 4 and not a five was room just need a bit of an update such as painting and really small swimming pool (just an fyi for those who consider this to be important). From my perspective, this should not be a reason not to go.
We had a few issues with this place. First, we never had our rooms cleaned without asking several times. We eventually went to the maintenance room and asked for brooms and extra towels and removed the trash ourselves. We were there Monday through Thursday (June 3rd-6th). When two ladies eventually came they were complaining in Spanish about cleaning up after us. Short Hispanic lady and tall black lady. Second, we were assigned a room but when we got our key and went to the room it was being worked on by maintenance and he told us that we have to go back to the office and get a new room. When we made it to our next assigned room the lock was broken on the door and the maintenance man came to fix it and threw his trash from the new lock right in front of our door which my kids picked up and tossed in the nearby dumpster. The light in the bathroom sink/coffee pot area did not work but we used the light from the bathroom. Third problem was the bathroom, it is extremely tiny and the toilet is crooked so that the door can open. If you’re sitting on the toilet you cannot open the bathroom door, it will hit your legs. The free breakfast was pastries, cereal, juices, yogurts, and fruits but if you want meats and eggs there’s a nearby Macdonalds and other places to eat within walking distance. It’s also within walking distance to the beach. There is a lot of visible damage that needs to be repaired on the exterior of this motel but I’m sure that’s from past storms. We enjoyed the pool the most., it’s clean and has a gazebo.
Terrible beds, disgusting bathrooms falling apart (literally), pool was unusable. Breakfast is non existent except for cereal and muffins. Disappointed in what we got for the $415 we paid per night. Would not return
The weekend before July 4th me and my Grandson decided at the very last minute to go to Galveston. The rooms were very clean and nicely decorated. The location couldn’t be any better, just 1/2 block from the beach. The pool was very clean. The free breakfast not so awesome but I don’t go down there for the free food! LOL
We had 2 families with 9 people altogether, so rented two king rooms. This was a great choice! Very economical and very comfortable beds and pillows. Room was surprisingly large. Monica at the front desk was very cheerful and friendly. All the staff we met were helpful and friendly. If you're on a budget you can't go wrong here - older property but well maintained! Kids enjoyed the pool too. Would stay here again!
