The service was great and the ladies at the front desk were super helpful. Breakfast was delicious and everyone was very polite. The pool was nice and clean. The rooms had kitchenettes, wow. We had an awesome weekend.
This is not a cheap hotel so I expected a little better than bad.
We had two rooms for our large family. I requested Ada accessible. Internet says they have some. They don't. I requested joining rooms but was told they don't have any. Not true. Our first room had a funny odor but was bearable. The second room door lock would not open so we got a different room. Totally unbearable chemical smell from the moldy air conditioner. Nope. Change room again. It had a funny smell, too, and adjoined to the room next door! We also wondered, tongue in cheek, if they could have put us any farther from the hotel lobby... maybe on the roof... see photos for gross Ness
Of this hotel. Also, breakfast seriously lacking. No protein and cheap tasting. I could not get past the first bite of a blueberry muffin. Everything tasted like marshmallow. Staff was nice enough, but when I asked if my children could come in the bar and play pool at 4 when it opened, the hotel manager said no, that it's a rough bar, crowded, and not for children. We returned that sat night at 8pm to find 4 cars in front of the bar. Overall not a nice place to stay, but there are only two hotels in the town and I won't stay at Super 8 again. Next time I will drive further to get a decent hotel. Same price.
The hotel was inaugurated merely a few weeks before our arrival.
As a matter of fact, our GPS was unable to locate it ans we had to make a couple turns on the I45 before we found it.
It's north of town center, convenient for the Moody Gardens but not for the beach.
Of course it's super new and modern, but they're still ramping up and so they are somewhat unorganized. Checkin was confused as they were unable to swipe our credit cards (Italian credit cards).
We were given a romm with the window obscured by the "newly opened" banner.
Other than that, the hotel is OK : parking and breakfast are complimentary. There's a pool, fitness center, laundry service.
The room was spacious, clean, with coffee maker and courtesy kit. Everyting was functioning OK, included the wifi.
We spent 100USD (refundable rate) for one night in September.
Was on route to Houston Airport with a couple of days to go. Popped in as opposite the Police station so felt it would be a good safe hotel Turned out to be a very interesting place . the rooms were cheap and Clean ......not the best décor. The hotel has formally been more upmarket and had good facilities including a large enclosed walled swimming pool top the centre of the complex. It needed a bit of a weed and the former shop area was boarded . In the evening there was a karaoke with locals. This in 3 weeks was the first hotel with any kind of evening entertainment even tho we had stayed in hotels across the board in price . If you want Marriotts this is not the place but If you want a good nights sleep in a safe place we loved it
