Arrived late and was greeted by Tyler the front desk attendant. He was very nice and knew how to preform his job. We had room:118. Last room on the hallway. The room was mostly clean just a few things needed attention like dusting and vacuuming. The room was average and the bed was ok and clean. Bathroom was large but definitely needs to replace the shower. It has a lot of wear and tear. Breakfast was average and the lady attendant was friendly and kept up the break at. The breakfast selection was average. Would of been nice to see some B&G. Eggs we’re rubbery and sausage was bland. Not the breakfast attendant fault. Still all in all we ate enough to get full. The breakfast area was kept up nice. The hallways of the hotel needed to be vacuumed. The hotel sits in a quite area and has an outside pool. Employees were friendly. Hotel needs an update. Felt the value should of been more like $75 a night and not $98.
The hotel was conveniently located to where I needed to be. I appreciate the Comfort Suites are generally customer focused and for that reason I am a platinum member. I booked this stay with points. I was given a cramped floor plan and was not allowed to upgrade to a larger room. No worries since I booked on points, but was a bit surprised as this is the first time in 5 years it was an issue. We unloaded and unpacked for a 4 night stay. I noticed the carpet had not been vacuumed around the sitting area.I pulled the comforter back on the bed and could see the sheets had not been changed due to the blood stain that was visible. I phoned downstairs to ask for new sheets and was offered to switch rooms. Since everything was already unpacked, I requested clean sheets again. The desk clerk advised she had never changed sheets before, but would be right up. I assisted her with remaking the bed. Due to limited holiday staff, we requested additional towels instead of housekeeping services. They delivered one towel that appeared to be from the pool area and four additional wash cloths. We checked out a day early. I want to stress the front desk staff were very friendly. When the sheet situation was being resolved, I asked that the manager be notified. I was very surprised to receive an email from the general manager with nothing but my invoice attached. I believe a little training would go a long way here. Again, the staff I encountered were extremely friendly, just unsure about guest expectations.
This room was very clean and well laid out. Amenities include:iron and ironing board, mini fridge, microwave, coffeemaker, and hairdryer. The work desk was large. The AC worked great. The hotel itself had a workout room, small outdoor pool, banquet room and a dedicated dining room to have breakfast in. The dining area seats about 40 people. The breakfast consists of sausage, eggs, waffles, muffins, cereal, yogurt, juice, fruit and coffee. The breakfast itself was just ok. I like the fact that the exterior doors to the hotel use your room key to enter. The negatives of this visit are as follows: We checked and immediately left to meet family members. Got back to the room to watch some college football games, but our TV wouldn't work. The lady at the front desk tried to get it to work, but couldn't. So much for watching tv till the next day. They did offer to move us to another room, but it would have been more trouble than it was worth to us. A lamp didn't work and when housekeeping cleaned the room the next day, they didn't leave any toilet paper. The clerk on duty, Ben, took care of all the problems. The only other issue I had with the room was the vent fan in the bathroom. It was making a very loud noise. I informed the manager at checkout.
I'll get the negatives out of the way first..... Unfortunately, they have to take out the battery in the handicapped lift for the pool due to vandalism. Gentleman staff said no problem, just let us know when you want us to put it in for you. Next day, woman at front desk hemmed and hawed like I was asking for some crazy thing. My mom was embarrassed feeling like she was being an imposition and let it drop. She struggled to get in and out of the pool! We used the pool in the middle of the afternoon and there were lots of towels etc all over the ground. Looked like guests from the night before really did a number on it. After we left, a gentleman employee came and cleaned it up. ..... We had a pull-out couch in our room. It has like 1 strap holding the mattress up. It is a waste. Felt so bad it had to be used. It really needs to be replaced.
Aside from those problems, it is a great place. It is centrally located. Walking distance from car rental etc. Most staff went out of their way to be nice and friendly. Room was clean, lobby was fine. Breakfast was a normal Comfort Suite's breakfast but staff kept it clean, tidy and well stocked. We had a leak in the roll in handicapped shower and called maintenance. They couldn't fix it right then and there and couldn't be more apologetic. The cleaning staff really went out of their way to accommodate us making sure we had enough towels with the leak.
We stay a Comfort Suites a lot and this one has some great employees. I hope they know that. Would stay there again without a doubt.
