I spent 3 months in this hostel and it is simply the best. The owners are the best, the people staying there are the best and the place is the best.
At first I had planned on staying for only 6 weeks but than because of the lockdown I stayed longer. I could not have spent lockdown in a better place. It has grown to be a second home for me. I will never forget my time here.
If you have any questions or concerns you can always do to Vicky and Dave and they will do their best to help.
The bedrooms, kitchen and bathrooms are very clean and you just feel very comfortable to stay here.
Kerikeri is a very nice and cute town and you have lots to do.
Arrived here and got a job straight away. Very pleasant hosts English and kiwi(that’s not their names they’re actually called Dave and Vicky) who run a super clean and cool hostel. Perks of the place is the area it’s situated in is beautiful, only two minutes into the town, the DVD room is huge with plenty dvds to choose from and it has a ping pong table. We even got free bananas from the tree out the back, which may I add was the best banana of my life. The icing on the cake though was my first day at work, I’d forgot my hat, but Dave was a top lad and gave me his to borrow. Three months down the line and I’ve still got that hat, Dave told me to keep it. Been traveling a canny bit since then and I’ve lost it now, but he doesn’t know about that. Let’s keep it that way 😀
Fabulous place. Victoria and David are so welcoming and helpful. The room was perfect and just what I needed after a day on the trail. David even dropped me at the next section the following day. The al fresco eating set up works so well and is such a lovely place to sit. There is a cat to cuddle too! Would highly recommend!!!
I had an amazing time at Hone Heke Lodge where I stayed for 2 months. The facilities were clean and the rooms are really big and comfortable. There is also a TV room and a game room. Dave and Victoria were always helpful, especially they can help you to find work as they know a lot of people in Kerikeri. I recommend for sure!
We lived here for 3 months when we first arrived in New Zealand on our travels and it was more like a home for us. David and Victoria are the best hosts and helped us find work and save money as well as be our surrogate parents. We stayed in the dorm rooms as well as a private room and they were great. Would definitely recommend, I met some friends for life here too!
