Our memorable 3-night family stay at Whispering Firs exceeded our wildest expectations! We were very pleased, over and over, with the hospitality, spectacular views, & beautiful, secluded, natural, setting! Views are there to be enjoyed from guest rooms, living room, dining room, & numerous decks.
It is an amazing location for family gatherings! The number of guests present in our party ranged from 20-50. Amazingly, we were ALL accommodated with seemingly the greatest of ease!
The spacious, well-appointed guest-rooms are inviting, offering comfy beds & extra pillows!
All of our needs were well-accommodated throughout the duration of our stay, including special dietary concerns, which were graciously catered to. Linda kept our whole party well-fed and happy, with her delicious cuisine & warm hospitality!
We enjoyed the laid-back mornings with coffee cups in hand, listening to the birds chirping and being mesmerized by the stunning view!
It was fun planning which adventures to undertake each day. Whether to stick around Whispering Firs where there is plenty of hiking, fishing, and basking in nature to do, or travel short distances to take in various local attractions.
It was a special treat to sit on the deck at night watching the 4th of July fireworks going off all the way from Anacortes to LaConner, and beyond! It was a pleasant experience to hear the bangs & booms from a muffled distance.
Our stay was perfect in every way! There was no detail that was overlooked, and we enjoyed every moment!
Vic & Linda have a special way of making guests feel right at home. We enjoyed that from the moment we arrived, until our final farewell!
It was hard to leave it all behind, but we cherish the wonderful memories that are ours to keep! We have high hopes of returning some day!
Thank you Vic & Linda for the warm hospitality, and for sharing your beautiful home in the whispering firs, with all of us!
Located in a superb location, close enough to be accessible and far enough to be remote, is an awesome house with incredible views. From the moment we walked in, amanda the host made us feel at home. We were really impressed with the decoration of the house, and were extra intrigued by the surprise on our room's cieling. An excellent breakfast and an interestting chat with Amanda topped off this wonderful visit and we would happily come back and recommend anyone passing by to stop there!
We were lucky to get a booking only a day ahead for one of the two units in this B&B. Knowing that the access road up to the B&B might be somewhat challenging (although we managed fine in an ordinary sedan) we picked up up deli fixings for a picnic supper at the wonder QFC supermarket in Stanwood. Our double queen room opened directly onto one end of a deck running across the entire front of the house. The king room unit opened up at the far end, so there was lots of privacy. We had talked to the hostess earlier in that afternoon, and were warned that she might not be home when we arrived, but she would leave info to find our room, and to make ourselves at home. So this is what happened, and we were greeted with the calmest irish setter you could imagine. We were enjoying the wonderful view on the deck when Linda arrived, and we had a nice chat. She and her husband have run the B&B for (I think she said) 30 years, so have it down pat, and I am sure have seen everything possible in the guests they have had over the years! We loved the view and our dinner, and a soak in the hot tub afterwards. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience, and a terrific breakfast simply added to that. We were lucky to have a very interesting couple for conversation with at breakfast, and we were dragging ourselves away around 10:00am. It was a very easy drive out to Anacortes, where we were taking the ferry to Vancouver Island.
Off the beaten path, this B&B is a treasure! Travel up the mountainside to a beautiful home with the nicest people ever! We stayed in the King Suite with a picture window that overlooked Puget Sound, a beautiful mountain range, and lots and lots of trees. The flowers were in full bloom and spectacular! Several small bodies of water all flow into each other with decking that allows for privacy or visiting with others. Beautiful hot tub. The breakfast was absolutely delicious and conversation so interesting. If you like hunting, you'll find many "trophies" in the lodge-type house, including a 1300 lb bear. Tastefully decorated, it's a real getaway.
We had a great stay at this charming B&B. Tucked between the trees with a wonderful view, the house has a privet short gravel way up a hill covered with the trees canopy.
We were welcomed by Vic and Linda to a warm and cozy living room. The room we stayed in was with two comfy queens and with enough space for all four of us to walk and play. Clean bathroom with a nice water pressure in the shower and a big closet.
The children enjoyed going in and out of the sliding doors to the big deck. Lots of room to run and play hide and seek. At night, while in the soft beds, the room came to life with stars all over the ceiling and a bit on the walls. A great way to full asleep.
Linda was so kind to prepare us a yammy gluten free breakfast for the two mornings we stayed. She explain about the area and the best routs to take.
The house is about 30 min. away from Deception Pass State Park, 10 min. from Mt. Vernon downtown and 30 min. on the Hwy to Tulalip Outlet if you desire some shopping.
The kids (two teens and a preschooler) and I enjoyed our stay. This is the place to be when visiting the area.
