We stayed mainly as the funeral we went to had the wake there. It has many kinds of options to stay, from hotel rooms, cottages and glamming. We stayed in rooms in the main hotel, although the room was a little tired, and the toilet not heated, the room was nice. The menu would not be for most tastes, but well presented. The breakfast average. The staff very nice and helpful.i wish we had stayed a little longer and been able to walk through the grounds to the beach. The grinds were lovely, even having a swimming pool and massage parlour . Also climbing frames for the children . Even though we only stayed overnight l would still like to go back, as a very well appointed hotel
Stayed here for one night on a tour round North Norfolk visiting friends and places. This was by far the best stay we had, on a beautiful hotel with many facilities ( most of which we didn't have time to use!)
The Grove is in such a sheltered spot and close to the town centre, but with a lovely map that shows you were you can walk and see views. We were offered the opportunity to book in at the massage hut, which was very reasonable, but I wasn't around long enough, sadly.
We arrived late afternoon and decided to book in for dinner, after a trip into town to enjoy a local pub that we had spotted on the way around the town earlier on. The bedroom was gorgeous, spacious, clean, comfy, with a fabulous bathroom and free standing bath. I think it was room 9, at the top of the stairs on the left. Really nice, but oh, it does have a low door for my 6'4" other half!
The evening meal was really good and you could see a lot of thought and preparation had gone into the menu and the delivery. We ate later, so the restaurant was fairly quiet. There are pleasant rooms in the lounge and bar area to relax and wind down. People who were staying in the cottages looked as if they had come to eat there too and also for breakfast, which was also really good.
I have to say a special thanks to Louise, who sorted me out when I was grappling with booking.com having messed up by booking the wrong date and then being unable to i book and get the right date. She saved my sanity!
Cromer was such a nice place, do come and enjoy the place.
Checked in for a night at The Grove with my partner Vicky. We had a very relaxing stay, the room was cosy, comfortable and welcoming and the staff attentive from the minute we arrived. We spent the day in Cromer walking on the beach as well as experiencing the hospitality of the occasional pub or two! When we returned to the hotel late afternoon, we relaxed for a while before getting ourselves ready for an evening meal, in their restaurant. The menu is extensive and perfectly presented to cover most, if not all taste buds. Presentation and flavours were faultless and the dining area relaxing and comfortable. Again, the staff were very professional and attentive, looking after our every need.
We both had a very comfortable nights sleep followed by an amazing breakfast, again the choice covered every taste with a choice of fruits, cereals, juices, bread and cooked offerings. We both opted for the full English which tasted amazing!
Both my partner and I would firstly like to thank all of the staff at The Grove for looking after us during our stay. The professionalism shown by not just front of house but also in the kitchen was truly amazing, thank you!
Secondly, we’d like to thank the owners, without their kindness and generosity to EACH our stay would not have been made possible...thank you!!!
Grant and Vicky...
Lovely, comfortable rooms (6 & 12) - though shower in room 6 took a long time to heat up & the water flow was very slow. Restaurant meals were very tasty, beautifully cooked and presented. A few simpler dishes on the menu would have been appreciated as some were a little overly-elaborate even for our wide-ranging tastes! Fantastic breakfasts. Lovely, clean pool and great to have the massage hut - reasonably priced and no problem with booking an appointment.
Friendly and efficient staff, large lodge room in a lovely setting and great locally sourced food in the restaurant. Within easy walking distance of Cromer along the cliff path, accessed directly from the hotel.
