Stayed in this lovely hotel for 2 days as a part of a 14 day trip in Zanzibar. The hotel itself is amazing little gem, eco place with very nice styled rooms ( we also had an amazing sea view from our room), great swimming pool that is also not too deep which is an advantage, situated on the beach itself so you could hear the waves from the see each morning and enjoy the coffee on the nice balcony.
Food was pretty decent, we had dinner there as well which was quite good for the price. Breakfast was also plenty and good choice served to you from a menu. Beach is the typical for that part of the island, so you can see both high and low tide here which was quite interesting for us.

Hotel is situated very close the famous snorkelling spot Mnebma island so we used one of the beach boys just outside hotel to organize trip for us – Waziri, trip was really good. You can do that through hotel as well.
In overall this place is really magical and definitely worth visiting. It is away from the crowd in Nungwi and really relaxed atmosphere with beautiful setting. Thank you for all the team that made our stay so unforgettable.

This place is PERFECT! We stayed in the beachside bungalow and enjoyed all of the amenities. Queen was great and welcomed us upon our arrival. We booked massages and enjoyed cocktails and laid by the pool. Everything seemed to be the exact right speed for our last couple days of our epic honeymoon. This is by far the quietest place in town and didn’t feel at all overwhelmed with guests or people selling things. It legit felt like we had a private oasis.
The food was stellar and the breakfast is included.

We almost stayed at Zanzibar queen, but I’m happy we picked this one as it’s not as busy with vendors selling things and party guests.

The hotel has an amazing view simply breathtaking. The food was not bad but portions were quite small!!
The rooms are spacious with a balcony where I enjoyed the sunrise.
Very very clean environment !!
I loved that the pool was 24 hours which was awesome 😊 unfortunately no room service reception closes at 9pm that was a downer . Screaming cats in the middle of the night that was really annoying!!
Also there is no air conditioning which was also a downer but we made the most of our stay and enjoyed the sea breeze!!
Oh the service was good!! Staff were friendly!!

To start, this is a very nice hotel directly on the beach in Matemwe. The rooms are beautiful, if you stay on the second or third floor you will have a beautiful view over the ocean. If you are on the ground floor, not so much of the view over the ocean. The staff at the hotel is amazing but with one exception; the reception manager (?) that greeted us on arrival and checked us in and out are not the nicest one. I'm not sure if he just had bad days but he gave us a bad first impression of the hotel. Also during checkout his attitude left much to wish. We are not the only ones with this impression. Other than him, the staff is absolutely great! They help you with anything you may want with a smile!

The chef is also great but the menu is to smilar from day to day. If you stay for more than two days you will start to get tired of the food. Also the vegetarian options are very limited. The food the chef cooks is very taste I would just wish for more variety in the menu since the restaurant only offers a limited amount of dishes per day.

Our room on the third floor was beautiful with a stunning view. Nice and clean. Our bed however, not so nice. Or its comfortable but something was wrong with half of the bed, soft, saggy and old. You couldn't sleep on that part with our risking falling out. This need to be fixed. Its not okay to have guest sleeps in beds like that.

The beach by the hotel is beautiful. The hotel also has a lovely pool but they should check the chemical balance in the pool. It coloured our swimsuits green.

As in many places at Zanzibar the hotel has a problem with cats - they are screaming and fighting during the night. Since the rooms don't cancel any noise out this is quite disturbing during the nights.

I understand this review sound very negative but overall our stay was very pleasant but there is needs of improvements. I stayed in many places around the island and for what we got for the price we payed per night this hotel doesn't really live up to the standard you would expect. With small changes this could be done. Also the prices in the restaurant are higher than average compared to other hotels in the area. Another suggestion would be to use the beach to get more sun chairs with umbrellas. If you were not up early in the morning to book a chair with your towel you would struggle to find a chair available on the beach. More sun chairs on the beach would solve that problem.

A big plus for me is that this hotel is small and more private than other places. Its not crowded with neighbouring hotels. And its for sure a beautiful place with beautiful rooms! And the staff, they are amazing!
