We spent three most beautiful days in Neustift back in August and stayed at Pension Am Rain. The most welcoming host, gave us all the information we needed from the very beginning. The pension is as cute and very clean, as expected. Room was big (we were three adult and young children), bathroom big and pretty and we had a balcony as well; pretty view of the mountains. Continental breakfast was included in the price and pretty reasonable prices to the mini bar in the breakfast room. There are two terraces where one can take breakfast or simply enjoy a glass of wine in the evening.
We came by public transport and the bus stop is about 2-3 minutes walking distance from the pension.
The whole area is stunning, we hiked and saw heaven like places and we are sure to come back and we will definitely stay here again.
A very welcoming and comfortable place to stay. Spacious bedroom and living areas with a pretty good little kitchen. Very clean and warm with a large bathroom with a heated floor and the best shower I've used in a long time. The breakfast at €8 was great value and everything you could want for a good start to your day.
There is also a sauna, which we didn't find the time to use.
The bus stops to and from Innsbruck to the glacier ski area are a 2 minute walk from the property and the town centre is about 1.5km which is close enough and keeps those ski legs working.
A great place with very helpful owners who give you all the information you need for a brilliant ski break.
Just come back from my first visit to Neustift and I would highly recommend staying at Pension Am Rain the hosts are loving and very welcoming. The rooms were great and gave plenty of room for us all. We were a party of 8 and stayed in three rooms and all were clean and tidy. Great place to relax after a day on the slopes.
Although sixth ski holiday in Austria, in different places each time it has surpassed them all. Accommodation in the hostel was excellent, spacious rooms with balcony, daily cleaning (every time I could find underwear arranged in shape of heart or rose ...). Everyone likes breakfast and very kind host. Every day another lady wearing a Tyrolean dress, otherwise very beautiful. Wi-fi is not free (5 euro / week), but even so, there was only room in signal reception area. The pension has a welcoming air, personalized and that because the hosts who definitely are interested in the tourists feel good. Mrs. Marlene always had a smile ..
Ski area, Stubai Glacier is 20 minutes away by car. Slopes are very long and very well maintained, was exactly our taste. Lunch we usually take Gamsgarten and go on ski afternoon stretch our number 3 ... Anyway there are plenty variants. A single day could not ski on the glacier because of strong winds closed. And so we come to the Schlick 2000, a 10-minute drive. Here it seemed not at all spectacular, is more of a place for children and beginners. Relatively high temperature, the spring (06 March). Fortunately the next day we returned to the glacier ...
We've just got back from a week in Neustift. Pension am Rain is clean, warm and rooms are a good size. We shared a balcony which ajoined the other room where my daughter was staying. The pension is in a peaceful location and is off the main road. The owner is friendly and helpful and continental breakfast was plentiful, cold meats/cheese/cereal/fruit and rolls. This place is in easy reach of the skiing resorts in Stubai by bus (bus stop 2 minutes away). The buses are free if you get a "pass" from the pension. The Glacier resort is huge and ideal for families/kids wanting to learn to ski, although it was extremely busy when we went during the school holidays. The Schlick 2000 is smaller and probably more suited to intermediate/good skiers. Would recommend the Pavillon Restaurant in Fulpmes (at the bottom of the Schlick) and Anna's Pizzeria/Italian in Neustift, both good food/value for money. We would definitely go back to Neustift.
