The hotel is very cozy! It has small, but great rooms, and you can just walk like 50 m and then you are on the beach. The beach is really nice as well. Here you can enjoy swimming and snorkeling without going on a boat. The hotel area at the beach is also very nice with a lot of seating area, and they also have chairs and some sun beds you can bring with you.
At the hotel they have a great restaurant, and they even serve you down at the beach! :) The food is so great, you actually don’t have to go somewhere else. They have Asian food and western food and a lot more, and it’s really good. The staff at the hotel is really great and helpful, and make you feel really welcome. We would definitely go back!
The only negative thing is if you leave any food in you’re room, it will be infested by a lot of ants. So be careful with that :)
We spent a few nights here. The room was small, the internet was slow. The food was great (locals, including vice mayor) ate here. No divider between shower and rest of bathroom (so almost everything gets wet taking a shower). Swimming from the beach is just over sand until one gets out a ways near the solo buoy-- then there are several clumps of sunken tires(?) that have lots of fish -- saw two lionfish at 4:30 PM.
Almost new two story 10 room inn. Every thing worked! No smells! Room are neat clean and well arranged. Beach is 75 steps and it is a good swimming beach. Food is always a crap-shoot in the Philippines. These people ace it. From Thai to Korean to Philippine food and yes they have American selections. Hot water was ready around 6:00 am for coffee or tea and you could have breakfast, lunch and dinner on the beach.
We were booked into Ceazar's Place without knowing anything about it by a friend in Dumaguete, who knew that we like to be on the beach and didn't want to spend too much. She got it 100% right! Ceazar's is right on the beach and cost just £25 per night. The room (No. 1) was basic but clean, with a hard bed and pillows (will suit some people but not me), air con, TV, and shower/wet room. It was kept very clean throughout by the cleaning staff, but places to keep our clothing was extremely limited, with nowhere to hang anything and just a few drawers (one of which was lockable for valuables) and a couple of cupboards. The electric shower was great, but the wash basin taps only ran at a trickle, making them virtually useless. Our only real criticism of the room was, being on the ground floor, we got woken early most mornings by the chatting of the cleaning staff and divers.
The café/bar was small but never busy, and the choice of food was more than adequate, as well as well-priced, tasty and good sized portions. They also had a good choice of drinks, although we almost exclusively had soft drinks (their shakes and fresh juices were very good!).
The beach was nice, with coarse sand/grit, a few plastic chairs and only 2 sun-loungers, which were not always available. However, being a guest house (it's not officially an hotel) in a diving area, we were usually the only 2 sunbathers on the beach, with lots of coming and going by diving groups aboard the numerous diving boats and trips to Apo Island (within easy reach - by boat - of Ceazar's Place). Every Sunday is "family day", and lots of locals arrive at Ceazar's Place to chill out, relax, unwind, party and have BBQs. On the whole everyone was very friendly, although some of the other guests kept themselves to themselves.
I'd say Ceazar's Place is definitely worth considering if you're looking for a cheap, comfortable, conveniently-placed guest house on the beach in Dauin and next to Dumaguete. It doesn't have much in the way of amenities, but at that price you can't ask for more.
A great option right on the beach in a quiet spot! Very clean. Amazing staff. Payed 1800php per night for 2 nights for a private room with 2 single beds, AC and private bath with hot shower. Even had a flat screen TV. Fresh towels and linens with name of the place embroidered, really nice stuff. Shower is great here BTW. Wifi is so-so, mainly in the outdoor common area. Food is actually really really good. Each room has its own foot wash station and clothes racks to dry your stuff outside. Definitely great option!
