We didn't know the casa before our trip to Cuba, just got there by a recommendation of another casa owner. Nevertheless we felt like home starting at our arrival at the casa. We had a spacious, clean room with a big bed and a bathroom with a powerful, everytime warm shower. All our meals we ate at the casa and they all have been good and plenty. The rooftop terrace is a very nice place to chill and enjoy the sunset. Ronaldo speaks English quite well so communication is easy. He and his wife are lovely, polite people. Defentively would recommend this casa for a stay in Santa Clara.

Adelaida is the sweetest casa owner that we've encountered in Cuba. She gave us a free map of Santa Clara, explained us everything about sightseeing and organized a taxi and a casa for our next destination Trinidad. Breakfast was good, plentiful and on time. The room was a bit small, but ok for us and very clean.

Just one little thing: If you take the casa's taxi service (Mr. Tony) to the viazul bus station, you will pay twice the regular taxi price (4 CUC instead of 2 CUC). I was disappointed to find out that Adelaida lied to me about the local taxi prices. Then again, I can't really blame her.

The house is very centrally located and easy to find. The room is huge and comfortable. It is in fact two rooms, one bedroom and one "living room" with bathroom. It seems recently painted and you can see the owners, Adelaïda y Rolando, have put a lot of efforts to arrange it. Breakfast and dinner are yummy and nicely presented. Friendly hosts, very chatty and helpful. They arranged a taxi back to La Habana for us for 25 CUC/person in 3 hours! Highly recommended. Thank you Adelaïda y Rolando!

Of all the places I visited in Cuba, I loved Santa Clara best, perhaps because it felt the most like a regular town of regular people, largely unaffected by the tourist crowd. Here, there were people strolling about the plaza at dusk, just like in Spain; I went to the theatre and to a concert at the Club Mejunje - and had the best possible home away from home at Casa Adelaida. The room was great - clean and comfortable, everything you could want, and the best I'd experienced in Cuba until then in my travels - but best of all were the great hosts. Wonderfully welcoming (and great cooks!) - they were also well informed and willing to spend the time answering my many questions. My stay with them greatly shaped my impression of Cuba, and I will be forever grateful. - Santa Clara and the Casa Adelaida come very highly recommended! (ps will add that having been travelling for some weeks already, I was in need of laundry, and both washing machine, hand washing facilities and clothes line was made available to me - very helpful for the traveller!)
