This family run lodge is a treasure with its welcoming lounge areas, long and wonderfully set dining tables in the great room surrounded by family heirlooms in beautiful cabinets, its fabulous views of beach and Cape Town across the water. Coffe and tea, biscuits and jam are on hand. Step outside to the patio and you can almost touch the waves! Christina and staff are wonderful.
This hotel is really unique. The decor from dates back to the seventies and looks like a well preserved living museum. The owner is very warm hearted and an interesting person to talk to. My room had huge panoramic windows (you can see the sun rise above table mountain from your bed) and it was awesome to sleep literally on the beach with a view to table mountain. The charme of this place cannot be matched...
It is a short walk of 10 min. to the restaurant 'On the rocks' (ask the owner to make a reservation for you and you will get a nice table)
Sonskyn is well located at the beach, with a breath taking view on Table mountain,
Friendly owners, lovely staf who spoiled us with a delicious breakfast.
I had a room in front of the B&B, very good.
The double bed room at the beach side was great.
Leave the curtains open and you awake with a view on Table mountain.
What more can you wish.
A place we will certainly visit again next year.
We have been here July 2014. Christina the owner was like a mother. The view from our room was amazing (never looked at the ocean and Table Mountain while showering) The food was amazing and the rooms really comfortable and luxurious! Will have to go there again!
Stayed at guesthouse/BandB for 5 nights in the room facing the sea/mountain. The view is extraordinary. The house is amazing and Christine is the perfect hostess. The house is filled with antiques and the dining room is dressed to impress. The guests are made to feel comfortable and there is a hearty breakfast that will appeal to all tastes. Although the house is on the beach there is a shopping centre with world class restaurants within walking distance. We ate at Ons Huisie, and Moyo (Eden on the Bay, Mall) - food was world class.
